"I made it!" Deliliah said as her left foot stepped onter the platform of the playground her older brother had taken her to.
"Good job Dee! I'm so proud of you! Move over I'm coming up." 10 year old Peter Parker took hold of the rope hanging in-front of the rock wall.
The wall just so happened to be pretty tall and with his little sister cheering him on just like he did for her, he lost focus on climbing.
Smiling at Deliliah, his foot slipped of the wall. He hit his head of the corner before falling back to the ground.
The last image Delilah had of her older brother was him getting wheeled away in an ambulance covered in blood. If only she had ran to someone faster.
Deliliah has spent the last 10 years working her butt of to accomplish everything she could, skipping two grades, being first chair in band, gaining powers like a spider, finding a father figure in her idol, getting straight A's, making the honor role, and being the fastest person to ever be on the cross country track team.
Now here she was, Standing in her cap and gown, straight from her high school graduation, deploma in hand, standing in-front of her older brothers headstone. It just happened to be his birthday. He would've been 20 today.
Tears running down her face and she smiled a watery smile at the headstone "Hey, Pete. I made it."
And that was all it took for for her knees to give out and her to fall to the floor, the salty liquid streaming down her face ruined her make-up.
and with last of her energy before breaking down she whispered, "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, big bro."
