Nysa's POV

I hurried to the room, avoiding saying 'good morning' to anyone, as I was in a rush to see him. After yesterday afternoon, I hoped there would be a change in approach between us.

He was seated at his usual desk, laughter ringing from him as him and Chase cracked a few double meaning jokes, while Derek swore at them with his usual attitude. I inhaled a deep breath, as I stood at the threshold, hoping for an eye contact with him, but he did not at all glance up.

"Nysa!" Jade squealed as she rushed to me and hugged me. I felt a little confused on how to react, I knew if I made the slightest hesitation, she would know something was bothering me in depths. I returned her hug with equal enthusiasm.

"Jade!" I said with my usual cheerful smile as she began telling me about the movie she watched last night. I tried my best to listen, to keep my mind from wandering off.

Taking my place at my desk, I turned to face her, as I could hear his voice and laughter ringing in my head.

"Derek daddy!" He squealed as Chase choked in laughter.

"Ryan don't make me come over there and slap you!" Derek snapped.

Jade waved her hands in front of me as I smiled at her. "Sounds like a nice movie," I said as she narrowed her eyes at me.

"Oh yeah, what's the name of the movie?" She asked as I gave her a guilty smile.

"Okay fine, my mind was diverted," I said as she frowned.

"Derek, dorsal or ventral?" Ryan once again opened his mouth.

"Ryan can you shut the fuck up, I am trying to tell Nysa something but your stupid voice is a distraction!" Jade hissed as I refused to look at him.

"Not my fault your bestie has a short attention span!" He scoffed.

I looked up at him with no emotion on my face, as for a brief second our eyes met.

"Ryan can you like for once be nice?" Jade glared at him as he shook his head. I looked away from him and at Jade.

"Don't bother with him, tell me about the movie, I'm listening," I said as she nodded and started her story once again.

The entire half of the day, it was Ryan and Chase against Derek and Jade, as they kept on passing hilarious remarks at each other. For once I decided to stay out of it, more because I had to be in a correct mood for this drama.

"Nysa, can we talk?" I looked up at Aiden, who stood by my side with his usual shy nature. I gave him a soft smile.

"Sit with me Aiden," I tapped on the empty chair next to me. He took his seat as he leaned back and looked at me. "What is it?" I asked as he smiled.

"I just feel a little-" he stopped when he heard his name.

"Aiden get away from Nysa, or else Ryan will fight you!" Derek yelled as I gave him a playful glare.

"Ignore them, they are stupid," I said as he chuckled.

"Are you and Ryan together?" He asked as I felt a weight shift onto my chest.

"No," the words came out clear.

"I am just feeling a little too overwhelmed lately," he said as he faced me. "Like, I feel the pressure of studies and responsibilities at home is getting the best of me," he said as I nodded.

"Aiden, you know its okay to feel low at times, but that doesn't mean you should give up or that you should always stay and see the negative of everything, you can bring balance to your stress, by appreciating everything positive around you," I said as he smiled at me. "Like, wake up every morning and compliment one thing about yourself, be thankful for something in your life, apart from the stress," he laughed lightly.

"Thank you for being with me," he looked at me as I nodded.

"Anytime," I said as he pulled me in an unexpected hug. His arms were completely wrapped around me, his face burried into my neck. It was an intimate hug, but with boundaries. I gulped and gave a small smile as he moved away.

"Sorry if it made you feel uncomfortable," he said as I shook my head.

"You needed one," I said as he smiled and went back to his group of boys. I looked at Jade who gave me a flirty smile as I rolled my eyes. Returning my attention back to my book, I felt a sensation of someone's eyes on me. I looked up and saw him, he looked straight into my soul, as I felt the hair on my arms and at the back of my neck prick. I broke the eye contact and looked back to the book.

"Nysa!" I flinched as I looked up to meet his eyes once again. His face with no emotions, a few others looked our way as Chase was a little stunned by his deep tone. I dare not look away, I gulped, breathing softly. "Nothing," he looked away as I felt frozen.
