There's many things people wish for. Money, fame, health, world peace. But all Hobi ever wanted was a family.

He had lots of toys, friends, and even a shared "room", but he never had a family.

Why you may ask?

Hoseok was taken to an adoption center at a young age. He never understood why his family was so different than the ones in the movie until he was told... he doesn't have one.

All the other kids around him aren't actually related to anyone there. They too needed a family just like him.

On his birthday some other boys would bring him their dessert cupcakes or a lollipop that the adoption ladies gave them. He never got why people gave him their things. He knew he wasn't worth it. Other wise why would he be there?

On his 8th birthday the boy had given up. After all his life waiting for someone to walk in and talk to him, this year no one had even glanced at him. All the adults that would come always took his friends away.

There was no reason for him to come out during adoption seasons anymore. He'd always shut himself in the bathroom, and hoped no one asked for him. And it never happened.

Currently it was February 17, a day before his 9th birthday. One of his friends had gone to his bed to wake him up because a lady was looking for him.

But he didn't want to. It took them half an hour to get him out of bed. Today he didn't have a smile, no energies no reasons to do anything.

"Why haven't you been attending the adoption events?" The woman asked.

"There's no reason to."

"Hoseok! Don't you wanna get adopted?!" She gasped, before the boy could say something else.

"No."

His sad words flew out, weakly, unsteady, and hurt. The woman couldn't do anything but be disappointed.

"Look, I've heard this many times before. Know that there's someone out there who wants to love you." She begun. "You never know. It could happen today."

The little boy tried containing his tears. He personally knew no one ever wanted to see him.

"Hoseok, I have happy news for you. There's a couple that wants to meet you."

Those were the last words the woman said before dismissing the boy.

Who walked out as fast as he could, shocked. He couldn't understand. Did she think she could just throw a bomb on him like that? His heart was aching. His chest swelled. And his head spun.

He didn't want to go with any adults that would return him like an item they bought in a store that was broken. Because he was broken. And he knew that.

"Hey Hobi, did Mss. Margaret already tell you? You need to get ready ok?" Another lady said as he walked back to the dorms.

The boy ignored her. He was gonna get ready of course, but he wasn't going to leave. He didn't want to.

"Hobi!!" One of his friends called. "I heard you're gonna get adopted!! I'm so happy for youuu!"

The boy tried hugging him, but the other denied. Why didn't he have a smile on his face? The little boy asked himself. After all he was finally leaving after 9 years of being there.

"Hoseok come with me." Miss. Margaret said, leading him to another room.

The boy walked in to two men sitting while talking to each other on sofa with a small brown coffee table in front of them.
