Chapter 6

It is now 2026, 5 years after you joined UA, met Denki, and had the first love story of your life. It's also 3 years after you graduated from UA and never saw him or any of your old classmates again. Teaching at Shiketsu High School is just as rewarding as learning at UA; you love teaching students to control their powers and you get to do a lot of good in a world that definitely needs it.

Kaminari is already becoming a famous, powerful hero and you feel so happy for him every time you see him on the news. He is now an inspiration for kids everywhere that you don't have to be smart and good at math to be successful, you just need to be talented at what you do and never give up on your dreams.

"There's a caramel frappuccino ready for Y/N!" announced one of the starbucks workers, so you go to take it from the counter. 'how hard is it to get my damn name right' you mutter under your breath whilst taking the drink back to your table. You were supposed to be meeting a friend here at the coffee shop but she texted you a while ago saying she was going to be late.

Regardless, you don't care if you're alone, you are just as content watching the atmosphere and listening to the music playing on the speakers. You recognise the song playing, it was that one that you were obsessed with in your teens- electric love. As you listen to the lyrics you recall all those past memories at UA with Denki and Mina and all of your old friends. You recall your first day together, fighting robots in the rain, the making of the 'lightning tornado' and your first kiss in that cave that afternoon. And then, as if he was summoned by your heartwarming flashbacks, you see someone walk into the cafe.

His charming, mature smile, his preppy walk, Børns singing on the speakers, the butterflies in your stomach: it's all just like the time you first met. His hair still looks the same as the day you ran your hands through it- messy, but in a good way. His face, especially his jawline, looks so much more mature and his hands look so large yet delicate that it makes you want to hold them once again.

Some cute round glasses outline his face and his hair is tied into a little man-bun resting on his neck. All of this makes you feel a whole new kind of love for him, a kind that you have never felt about anybody before.

He seems to already have noticed you, and doesn't look at all fazed by seeing you again. He places his masculine hand on the table "Mind if I join you?".

"Yeah sure" you blush already, "So how's things been?"

"Pretty great actually! I've been getting so involved in the hero business and having so much fun! And it's nice to know that you're making a difference, ya'know"

"Yeah it must be awesome" you sigh. you do love teaching but it was always your dream to be a hero like he is.

"Sorry, didn't mean to brag" he says, his tender face softly gazing at you, and his eyes showing a hint of sympathy.

"Don't worry it's fine. I do like my job at the high school but I still wonder what it would be like to be in the action first hand"

"But why aren't you a hero? You got your provisional licence right?" he asked, you can tell he honestly wants to know more.

"Yeah I did, but my first few months on the job didn't go so well" you explained. "And I almost failed a mission which was humiliating, so when I got an offer to work at Shiketsu, I took it" you feel embarrassed as you say this, and even more so when see the disappointment on his face.

"You really gave up after just a few months?" he teased you as his disappointment turns into laughter.

"Hey don't laugh!" you say defensively, trying not to giggle. "I was young and stupid and I still regret it"

"Remember what else we did when we were young and stupid?" You burst into laughter and spat out your coffee.

"Oh that I do not regret" you remark in a flirty manner.

After a few minutes of casual flirting and teasing you hear a phone start to ring and Denki picks it up. "Hello?" his face turns serious and he tells the phone "got it, I'll be right there"
