love interest: tony starkLOVE, WHAT A FICKLE AND SO MEANINGLESS THING. And yet, the power that it held. Strength to topple political alliances, bring about wars, plunge cities into darkness. Yvette could not understand just exactly why such a minuscule thing could bring about so much disarray. Maybe that's why her handlers had warranted her of it, more so than they did anything else. From the age of seven Yvette Sidorova had been trained to be a thief, a spy, a killer. From the age ten she had made her first kill and was well on her way to countless others. It was what was expected of her. The Red Room accepted no weakness, and Yvette showed none.
When Yvette had turned twenty, she was introduced to new handlers. Those who tasked her with positions along side the Winter Soldier. A ghost story to many, the boogeyman who haunted sinners in their sleep. With cold eyes sharp as the knives he bares, to the steel like grip of the mechanical arm that was designed for killing. Yvette knew better though. Instead, she knew him as James Buchanan Barnes, the man who had trained her from the first day she stepped foot into the Red Room.
Twenty years later, Yvette was assigned a mission. The task was simple. Infiltrate Stark Industries and pose your way as an assistant for the billionaire himself Tony Stark. The genius that had the who had not only found himself of HYDRA's radar, but was also becoming a rather nuisance to the organizations goals for the future and, as was done before, if could not be swayed would ultimately have to be eliminated. She was supposed to gather as much intel as possible- on Stark Industries, the Avengers, SHIELD if possible.
What she did not expect, neither would have years prior to the mission, was the fact that through the years of working alongside the genius was that she was not completely immune to his charm. That fact alone left her surprised as many had tried to flatter her and failed spectacularly. And yet, here was the golden brown man with his heart on his sleeve complimenting even the smallest aspects of her. Something that no one had ever done before. Something that she never would have thought that she had needed.
Love was a dangerous and vicious thing that demanded to be felt. It was no wonder her handlers tried to keep her away from such things. But little did they know, they simply pushed her one step closer.
NOTES!
- Yvette was orphaned at three years old and lived in an orphanage until she was seven, which is where the Red Room picked her up. You could decide whether or not it was tied to her family background or they just picked her up off the street because that is something HYDRA would do.
- Yvette trains alongside Natasha during their time in the Red Room and become each others confidants. This will be important during, if choose too, the events of Black Widow where they have to go back to where everything started. I also think that it will be good for Yvette to not only reflect on how different her times between being in the Red Room and changing handlers had been, but also because she had a family there all of her own. You can choose whether there is another significant character back for her to long for and if they side with her or against her.
- Yvette and Bucky do become close (platonically!) as do to not only all the missions they worked together, but because Yvette knows who he truly is and does care for him.
- The Black Widow program is similar to the Super Soldier program in aspects of where they are not only enhanced but age slower, so Yvette could have been born in (que whatever time point) and yet still look to be in her early thirties.
- Yvette works undercover at Stark Industries where she meets Tony and, slowly, begins to fall in love with him. He opens her up to new possibilities as she has never known what love was. So it wil cause so turmoil for her as she grows conflicted when considering killing him or not. It should also be noted that Tony is a genius, and, let's be honest, had Natasha figured out pretty quickly in IM2 so here it could be relatively the same thing except he's in denial because he loves her. So more turmoil and angst!
- It should be noted that the team will also be more like a family than what they were in the movies. This is a must, especially as it helps in aspects of Natasha being warry of Tony's new assistant and you could have them interact. It will also be helpful with Steve, as Yvette has connections to Bucky if you choose to do so.
- The time setting is from Iron Man 3 to The Winter Soldier. There's a scene where a sniper scope is aimed at Tony and you could have Yvette receive word about it prior, only to showcase her first act of defiance against HYDRA and quickly pull Tony to safety. This is where everything is reaching its boiling point. In my head it's where the events were slowly building up to that moment and it leads to Tony interrogating her.
- Yvette does grow to love Tony before the events of TWS and it hurts her for lying to him. (Quick warning, do not have them sleep together- especially while Yvette is carrying such a secret like that. It feels wrong). So that quote up above could be given during their last interaction before he lets her escape. This could turn into a point of how she runs into Bucky again and they're on the run together.
- There should be scenes here and there where Yvette and Tony run into each other. Like, maybe she acts as his shadow to make sure he doesn't get hurt.
- In the end, they do get together but the process has to be worked out. It can't be rushed. Also, it should be after the events of CW.
- And, yes, while Tony and Pepper (if you choose to keep it) do date and eventually break up, don't have it where Yvette and Pepper are constantly at each other's throats. Yes Pepper can be cautious and passive aggressive of Yvette, but they grow out of that.
- Yvette can't have children, so if that aspect comes up, have her be open to aspects such as adoption or stuff like that. Heck, you could even still involve Morgan with Pepper's help.
- Finally, please, it is very crucial that you not only let both sides be hurt by the events but try to heal. It is important!
