Rengoku Kyojuro was surrounded in flames, his head bowed and his body shaking in anger. Slowly he pushed himself on the ground with his sword and raised his head, his gold and red eyes burning with a frightening passion and calm smile on his lips.
"I will not die here demon!" He raised his sword, pointing it towards the demon, the smile never leaving his face.
"Tonight you will perish! I am Rengoku Kyojuro! The Flame Hashira!"

There, in all his glory, stood the proud and powerful flame hashira. Tengen sat on the floor in shock watching as flames circled his friend like a barrier. He couldn't believe his eyes as Rengoku raised his sword at the demon. Any fear or worry on his his face before was completely wiped away and replaced with a calm yet pissed off expression.
It unnerved Tengen.
The demon, unable to move, stared at the fiery blonde with an unrivalled fear. He had heard the legends of the Flame Hashira before. The story told by Akaza was truly a terrifying image. A mere human being able to match the Uppermoon 3 blow for blow. Although he died in the end, Rengoku had struck fear into the demon's heart and therefore struck fear into the hearts of all the demons underneath him.
"Y-you! How could this have happened! Masters said you would never regain your memories!"
"You only have yourself to blame. You should have killed me when you had the chance, demon!"
Rengoku strode forward, his steps calm and patient, flames following on his heels. The demon growled jumping back, landing in a crouched, defensive position. The creature's eyes flittered from left to right searching for anything to help him.
He smirked as he spotted the two dazed, almost unconscious humans off to the side. Sparing a quick glance at the hashira before him, the demon leapt at the two humans grabbing both of them by their necks and holding them in front like a shield.
"You might have your memories, but you can't be as strong as you once were, so there is no way you can stop me and save your friends!"
Rengoku halted in his tracks, glaring at the demon.
"Let them go!"
All Tengen could feel was pure rage, as he watched the demon hold his friends like a shield. Instead of a beast to be feared, all he saw was a coward. A coward in a hideous skin, unable to handle a tiny set back. Such a pitiful coward.
"Such an unflashy creature. You have no worth in this life"
Watching Rengoku before him and seeing such a cowardly demon sparked something in his head as though a memory was attempting to break through. Tengen frowned as his head began to ache.
"What did the demon call me before?" Tengen asked himself, "A Sound Hashira?"
"You Uzui Tengen, were once know as the Sound Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps. A man with flashy ideals" Rengoku smirked, remembering the past vividly of his best friend and his three wives.
"Remember the three beautiful kunoichi you once called your wives! They loved you and you loved them! How would they react seeing you defeated by such a weak opponent!"
At the mention of his three wives a spark began to grow inside Tengen's mind as small scenes played out in his mind of three beautiful women, always by his side. He could practically feel the memories rising on the surface, begging to be let free. Tengen growled holding his head and shutting his eyes, trying so desperately to remember.
Rengoku was silent for a moment, staring intently at the demon before him. Rengoku, despite having been the first Hashira to die, was unable to rest until he could see his friends fight to the end. He had witnessed every battle, after his death, the burgundy haired boy had fought. He had watched Tengen interact with the strong headed and kind demon slayer and knew of the subtle feelings the man had for the young demon slayer.
