White-Berry wakes me up just before dawn. I feel dead when he wakes me up, my eyes still heavy from sleepy and my muscles still stiff from a night of rest. I clambered to my feet anyway. They had prepared a small breakfast for us, which we ate quickly before heading out. Cedar-Splash handed me a bow and a quiver of arrows just before we headed out. I strapped them onto my back as we walked. Lily-Shine briefed me as we walked, telling me that we were just there to patrol and make sure the borders were secure. She motioned to the paint that Tree-Sky and White-Berry carried, saying that we were going to remark the border. However, any food that we could bring back would be helpful.
The patrol around the borders was dull. They remarked the lines without any difficulty, and we hunted on the way back, bringing home two rabbits and three squirrels. I'd brought down one of each on my own.
Over the next three months, I settled into the pace of the camp. I made fast friends with Apollo, Astrid, and Serana. I went on several missions, mostly hunting. Whenever I had free time, I mainly went and helped at the forge or spent time with the children. Soon, I really became part of the tribe. Occasionally, I'd train with Astrid and learn a few more spells.
Life went well in the camp.
A/N: Sorry this chapter is so short guys. I'll put the 'actual beginning' in the next chapter, so get prepared for that, I guess. I'm going to make it emotional. Or, at least, I'll try to. I know it's taken me forever to update, and I'm kinda sorry about that. Oh well.
