The nerves and stress of the first day at a new school had been significantly diminished after the first 5 times I had to go through it.
Sure, I didn't love being the new kid, but it really wasn't a huge deal.

I was decent at talking to new people and dealing with any idiots trying to give me shit. If they didn't like me I just didn't care.
I surprisingly woke up on time, deciding that being late on the first day wouldn't be my brightest idea.

I'm definitely not one of those people who can't eat breakfast, so after consuming a huge plate of avocado toast I embarked on the tumultuous journey of picking an outfit. Every teen girls struggle right?

The new private school I was attending was undoubtedly full of fancy, rich, stuck up snobs so I don't think sweats was the best look.

After a few minutes of intense thinking, I just ended up going with straight leg jeans and my favourite vintage t-shirt. I just added white sneakers and my favourite gold necklace and rings. I know, basic. But I never claimed to have the best fashion sense.

I don't have my own car but I was able to borrow dads to drive me and Tyler to school.

"Holy shit this is the real deal huh??" Tyler asked in shock as we drove up a long gravel driveway to the school. We were faced with an imposing red brick building flanked by wings of more modern classrooms.

A large sign on the side of the driveway read "Milton Academy". Even the fucking name is fancy. Nerves were slowly starting to build in my stomach as I realised how insane this new school really was.

As soon as we arrived, the absolute privilege and wealth of the students was evident from a parking lot full of Mercedes and BMWs. Just your typical high school right?

Safe to say, our basic Mazda didn't fit in.

"Well Ty, you ready for this?"

"Of course. Born ready" he responded with a cocky grin.

"Mhm, whatever, be back here at 3:30"

Me and Tyler separated, him quickly entering the building while a took a deep breath to calm down.

It was time to officially enter this new world, taking a deep breath I stepped through the large glass doors. Jesus Christ. Have I just stepped onto the set of gossip girl?

I was instantly surrounded by a swarm of mini skirts, blazers, white shirts and designer handbags.

To say that I didn't belong was an understatement, it was as if these real life Blair's and Serena's could tell I wasn't one of them. Well hopefully I at least won't be as unlikeable as Dan.
I knew that I had English first so I dug my map out of my bag and began walking down the long hallways looking for the classroom.

As I walked I made eye contact with a few people and I could practically feel the judgement radiating off of them.

When I finally found the sleek modern room I found a seat towards the back, I was gazing out the window at the incredible grounds when I was interrupted by a voice asking, "Hi! Is this seat taken?"

I looked up to see a pretty girl smiling warmly at me and gesturing to the seat next to mine. Wow this girl was stunning. Her blinding white teeth contrasted against her clear dark skin and striking features.

She was wearing a cropped blazer that fit tightly to her curves, as well as matching mini skirt that showed off her incredible legs. Both items were made of the same pink plaid material. Apparently this place really was gossip girl.

"Oh yeah of course!!" I replied brightly, "Also can I just say I'm obsessed with your outfit you look amazing!" God I really hoped she wasn't one of this stuck up girls who can't take a compliment.

Her smile widened even further as she gracefully sat down, "Aw thank you so much! It's Chanel from the 90s, I got it recently from their archives...." She trailed off, embarrassed.

"Sorry, I'm kind of a nerd about fashion I don't want to bore you"

"No I think it's so cool. When did you get so into fashion?" I ask, genuinely interested.

As the classroom fills up with more students she talks about her childhood obsession with clothes and how her mum influenced her. She seems really nice and sweet so I'm glad I at least know one person on this place.

"Oh I totally forgot to introduce myself. I'm Violet. Well, Violet Davis. But people call me Vi" she says as she brings her books about of her bag.

"I don't think I've seen you before", she adds, "Are you new?"

"Yeah. Just moved here. And I'm Isabelle Carter. But call me Izzy" I respond.

"So Izzy, first impressions of Milton Academy?" She asks, grinning.

"Um, well," I pause awkwardly, " Kind of seems like just a bunch of super rich kids" I laugh. Shit is that rude, I mean I'm saying that to one of them.

She laughs, face lighting up as she responds "Yeah that's pretty accurate. Obviously you get some stuck up idiots but most of use are ok. My friends will love you. You'll sit with me at lunch right? I mean obviously you don't have to just a friendly offer .." she talks quickly, nervously playing with her braids.

"No I'd love that. Thanks." I abruptly stop talking as the teacher walks in, a young guy wearing a literal suit and carrying a brief case. As he begins to write on the board I turn quickly towards Vi.
"So, how would you like to be my first actual friend here?" I whisper.

She responds with a gorgeous smile, "It would be an honour"

Thank fuck. At least I like one person here.
