Love At First Show!

Chapter 5

Chapter 5:

The Share the Joy segment was already going on. Oh no I was next and this was my first waterworks in front of an audience but I'm glad I have my favorite girl Katina doing it with me. I hopped on Katina's stomach and laid there while she swam slowly to the show pool I heard "One drop of water" and kissed Tina's belly and jumped off. I grabbed on to her pectorals and started doing the hula. Then she pushed me around the pool while I spun and she spun. She pushed me to the bottom of the thirty-six foot pool and pushed me up and out of the water I was about 20 feet into the air just soaring when I went in dive position. I hit the water safely and Kat pushed me onto the stage I gave her a huge hug and got her some fish. Then, I laid on my back on the platform and she turned over in the pool right next to me and I gave her a rub down then I jumped back in the icy water and she pushed me up while I was standing on her nose. Then she pushed me toward the back as the song ended. The guests were really surprised by the in water interaction there's not a lot of that in One Ocean. Wow I really like performing in believe. Now it was time for the guest to get wet. We decided to give the speech we always do as a warning in One Ocean so I did "Hi my name is Kelsea and since becoming a trainer here at Shamu Stadium I've learned that each whale just like you and me has there likes and there dislikes but there's one thing each whale shares in common they can make a really big.... SPLASH" I saw my family smile and Tilikum was sent to me. It was my first time performing with Tilikum although I've been building relationship with him for quite a while now. I tapped on the glass on the left side of the stadium and caught his attention I threw him a big fish and gave him the hand motion to do a belly flop on the right side of the stadium the middle and the left close to the glass. He did it correctly and I blew my whistle. I saw that Robert and my family were SOAKED. Maybe more than soaked. I couldn't help but laugh I gave him the fluke splash signal for the right side of the stadium then blew my whistle and gave him fish, then sent the fluke splash to the middle, then to the left. All this time I never noticed the trainers and guest next to me doing the "Shamu Slam" I was mesmerized by Tilikum but now I heard from the guest "SHAMU, SHAMU." Then it ended and One World began. Then the show was over. I didn't go out after the show because Jessica and I had a scheduled play time with Tilikum and Malia back in the G pool also known as the underwater viewing pool, Dine with Shamu pool, or "The Cove." Malia was Tilikum's daughter so they were often put together for playtimes. I loved playtimes when we get onto a deeper slide out and throw balls and toys out there for the whales. We also have games like "I do you do" or like "retrieval". It's very fun being a part of play time. Then I saw my family and Robert walk back stage with Mike. "Hey Kels, I told them they could come watch the playtime if that's okay!" Mike said. "Sure, of course" I replied. "Which whales are these?" Robert asked. "The one I have right here is Tilikum, he's our biggest whale and the one who got you wet. And Jessica has Malia a young female orca." I replied back to his question. My family kept making comments about how big Tilikum was as they watched the playtime. I put Tilikum closer to where they were standing and I let them lean over and pet him. I gave Tilikum the signal to vocalize and they were amazed at the astonishing sounds.
