TILIKUM IS ALLOWED TO DO WATERWORKS. TAKU IS STILL ALIVE AND IS IN SEAWORLD SAN ANTONIO.
After our 'Share the Joy' segment it was time for the splashing segment. I tapped on the glass and got Tilikum. I pointed him over to Kyle. I ran up to the bleachers infront of the slide out. Robert was sitting in the second row. I put my right hand up then left and then made the whale tale. "SHAMU SHAMU" then I turned and saw Tilikums giant tale come up and out of the water and then everyone was soaked. We continued the Shamu chant until it was over then I sent Tilikum to the back.
THENEXTDAY
Brian just announced that I was having my first waterworks with Tilikum. I couldn't wait. My waterworks was scheduled for 10:30 right before the One Ocean show. I went into the fish room and grabbed Tilikums first two buckets. I called him over under the shaded pool and he came over vocalizing. I playfully asked him if he was hungry and he shook his head yes. I gave him a handful out of the bucket. Then I gave him a nice rubdown that he seemed to enjoy. It was soon time for the session. The stadium was filled with about 5,000 people and over the park intercom they announce "Shamu Stadium has reached capacity. Sorry for the inconvenience." Great everyone was watching. I mean they'd watch me in the show anyway but ya know. The crowd cheered when I hopped on Tilikums huge back. The session went well and it was time for one ocean. "SEAWORLD PROUDLY PRESENTS... ONE OCEAN" I heard loudly over the speakers. The opening video played and i was in the opening 'One song' and 'frolic' working with Tilikum. "Hey ya na na na" started playing and I crisscrossed with a couple other trainers to get the the far from the audience look left. I received Tilikum and asked him to go do an alien by the slideout. As big as he was, when he performed he gave all the energy he had. 'One song' ended quickly and I sent Tili to meet me at the slideout. He did. When I got to the slideout Kyle was there and I gave him a two hand high five and a hug. Then I ran to Tilikum full of energy I gave him a hug and went a grabbed a fish. I held it out and both Tilikum and Trua shook their heads no. The crowd laughed. I ran back and got another fish I had one in each hand. They shook their heads no again. Kyle ran to me with the bucket and held it up they shook their heads yes and I acted mad and gave then the splash signal. I stepped over to the side and told Kyle to wave and then he got soaked with 52 degree water. This was one of the best one ocean shows that I have EVER done. In the side by side segment and Kyle and I was doing the speech. Me: it's such a privilege for all of us here at SeaWorld to work with Shamu and all of the other amazing animals here at the park. It inspires us to make a difference each of us working together to celebrate and care for our natural world.
Kyle: when we care for our oceans were securing the future for the next generations. Every new life is a part of that legacy. When we join together side by side we can work wonders and the beauty of our oceans will continue to thrive.
Right when he said 'thrive' we threw our hands up right then Katina and Makaio did a bow out of the water. Then we ran to the back. Kyle and I are great friends so when we got backstage we high fived and hugged each other. We have have another Believe show but im not performing until shamu rocks tonight. This is why I love summer. The summer nights shows are the best. It was really hot so I went put on my SeaWorld shirt and had only half of my wetsuit on. Then I got a call. It was from Robert! "Hello?" I asked "hey" he answered
"What's up?"
"I have great news"
"Really? What is it?"
"I got a movie offer but it'll take until the end of November. Are you okay with that?"
"Yeah that's great Rob"
"I'm leaving tomorrow. And we may have to move the wedding back"
"Yeah. Okay I have to go bye"
"Bye love you"
I just hung up. Wow. Move the wedding back for a movie. And leaving TOMORROW?? I wanted to break down. But. Whatever. I just brushed it off and put my wetsuit back fully on and went to Tilikum. I was doing you and me with him but out of the water. I fed him his sixth bucket of the day not counting the show buckets. I asked him for a hug and he did it. I kissed his nose and patted his tongue. It was one of the trainers Megan's last day. Amber, Kristi, Dawn, and I were going in the crowd and holding a sign that says 'WE'RE GONNA MISS YOU MEGAN!' While she performs the something far greater segment with her favorite whale Nalani. Now it was cake time. The cake had a picture of Megan and Nalani on it. It was like a big party. Trainers that weren't working today came in to see her it was awesome. 20 minutes before believe started we went in our wetsuits on the front reserved row infront of the slideout. Robert was behind us but I didn't feel like really talking to him right now. Right before something far greater came on we held the sign up. The camera zoomed on us. We were on two screens and Megan was on the other two! She couldnt stop smiling but she was also crying. After the show we all went backstage because we only had an hour until Shamu Rocks. I got ready with Tilikum. When the music started I ran out turning in circles heading toward the slide out and Tilikum turned and followed. I sent him to the slide out and once I got there I asked him to do a froggie. He was confused the first time but then I asked again and he did it perfectly. I asked him to stick his tongue out and pointed to him then me then gestured to the audience. I told him to move his tongue and the audience laughed I blew my whistle and went and got him some fish. I asked him to dance and he did. He looked beautiful and put all of his energy into it. Once it was over we fed the whales their dinner and went home. When I got home Robert and his stuff was gone......
