Pacing...that's all Mikoto could do was pace up and down the hallway of the ER while Munakata sat quietly in a chair nearby. Both Kings were covered in the blood of their fallen clansmen and neither bothered to even think about going and changing. While Mikoto continued his movements, Munakata stayed in his spot, arms crossed over his chest and one leg bouncing up and down like crazy. It was all he could do to prevent himself from having any kind of panic attack or mental breakdown at that moment. The tension in that hallway was so thick it was difficult to even breathe or think straight. The sight of Yata and Fushimi lying on the ground like that, just barely clinging to their lives...it was an image that was burned into both of their minds. As for the other members of Homra and Scepter 4, they had been told to return to their headquarters and wait for a phone call. Sure enough, they had all tried to protest but both Kings had made up their minds.

Finally Mikoto stopped his pacing and turned his attention to the rather tense looking Blue King. Sighing quietly, he made his way over and sat himself down next to the other. That facial expression he was making...he knew Munakata was overthinking once again but then again he really couldn't blame the other. Their boys were in critical condition after all with a minimal chance of pulling through, but both of them were tough as hell. If anyone could pull through a situation like this, it would be the two of them. Still, knowing that didn't make either of them feel better at that moment. Mikoto was so pissed it was difficult to even keep his aura under control at that point, but he forced himself to hold it in. He could let it out later when they weren't inside a damn hospital.

Without making any eye contact, Mikoto reached over and grasped Munakata's hand rather tightly. To his surprise, the Blue King actually returned the tight grasp rather than pulling his hand away. Normally they were careful about showing any kind of public affection, but this moment was an exception. It was a stressful time and they both needed each other. They had burned that Pink Clan's hideout to the ground and made sure none of those bastards got out alive, but even that didn't seem like it was enough. It felt like they didn't suffer enough, but there was nothing more they could do. Every single member was gone now so they would have to find a different way to let out the rest of their frustrations.

"Mikoto..." Munakata had finally spoken after a long period of silence between the two of them. He sounded exhausted and distressed, his voice was just barely above a whisper. Hearing him talk like that, the Red King let out a small sigh and gently ran his thumb across the back of the other's hand.

"It's going to be fine, Reisi. They're going to be fine." He said it so confidently, but deep down he had a small amount of doubt. He just didn't want the Blue King to worry himself anymore. If he kept this up he was probably going to make himself sick or something.

"I...I know that but..." Munakata mumbled softly. He wanted to believe that, but after seeing the looks on the doctors faces...even they had their doubts. Sighing lightly, Munakata shifted a bit to place his head against Mikoto's shoulder and used his free hand to pull his glasses from his face.

"Stop overthinking it... You're going to end up in here as well if you keep that shit up..." Mikoto huffed quietly and rested his cheek on top of Munakata's head. He desperately wanted to smoke, but he also didn't want to leave the hallway. Normally he would just light one up without a care in the world but he was in no mood for a certain Blue King to yell at him for such a thing. If only they had been a little faster.... No if only they had made those two get their asses back home. They both should have known better than to allow those two to stay out while they were being chased. It was completely irresponsible on both of their accounts and now Yata and Fushimi were suffering for it.

Hours passed with no change or word from any of the doctors. Neither King knew the condition of their clansmen and it was driving them both insane. It had gotten to the point where Mikoto had nearly gotten up to bang on the door and demand some answers but Munakata had kept him at bay, telling him it was better not to interrupt. Sure Mikoto had been unhappy about that, but he managed to behave himself and remained in his seat beside the Blue King. Still, he had no idea what was taking these idiots so long. Just how bad off were Yata and Fushimi? There had to be damage neither of them had been able to see. All they had seen was how much blood those two had lost and that their weapons had been in very dangerous places. The surgery to remove them must have been what was taking the most time. Either way, the wait was very stressful on both of them.
