Monday morning, the worst day of the year. To make it worst, Yang Jungwon exists in this class."Good morning, Hagene." He greeted me earlier, staring at me with those bubbly eyes that reminds me of a cat.
But instead of admiring it, I was scared. It made me think back why did I fell for this guy?
I stepped back but he keeps on getting closer. He smiled and I almost fell for it.
Stop it, stupid. He's a psycho. A lunatic. A cute one.
Ugh!
Morning, now scram. "Good morning," I greeted back. "excuse me." I wanted to avoid him.
The burial was held just yesterday, why is he not affected by it? Oh yeah, he killed his father. He was a demon disguised as an angel.
I sat on my chair, luckily, my place was far from his. He went to his friends and I wanted to punch them in the gut for being so noisy early in the morning.
I was contemplating whether to tell Mrs. Yang that her husband was killed by her own son. But of course, she wouldn't believe that.
Jungwon is a good student, a role model and a perfect son that every parents want. He's a person who threw a chalk powder on a bully. The fact that his innocent beauty is evident makes it more impossible to point him as a criminal.
Even I don't want to believe that information, maybe he was just there coincidentally when his father was killed.
My eyes started to water, I quickly wiped it away. I was still affected by Mr. Yang's sudden death.
"Hagene~" I recognized that annoying yet cute tone.
"Sunoo," He sat beside me, pouting. "what are you doing? That's not your seat."
"It is now," he rolled his eyes. "I hate being with Sunghoon."
I snickered. He and Sunghoon are always bickering, it kinda reminds me of Tom and Jerry.
I became close with Kim Sunoo during our first year of junior high. We clicked and had many similarities, especially for being a mint chocolate enthusiast.
"Why is Jungwon so calm despite his father dying?" He asked silently.
"I don't know. He's probably holding it in." I feigned ignorance. It's better that you don't know.
"Maybe, I wish I was that strong." I glared at him.
"Hey, stop it. You will survive that surgery, get me? If you give up, I will never forgive you."
"Yeah yeah," He smiled. The smile that I want to protect forever. "thanks for being there, Hagene."
Our class started and it was boring. I had no problem with my studies but my seatmate has a complicated relationship with mathematics.
Lunch break. The moment our school bell rang, I swiftly ran towards the exit and left my poor Sunoo with those two idiots Sunghoon and Ni-ki.
I wanted to avoid bumping into Jungwon as much as possible.
"Please go out with me!"
That made stop on my track. I hid behind the wall and peaked at where the voice came from. There, I saw something pitiful.
"I'm not interested, sorry."
I was about to wonder why the hell did he arrive there so fast until I remembered that he was a taekwondo player.
The sight of Yang Jungwon rejecting a girl's confession is not a shock. He's popular in this academy but he's also known to be a campus rejector.
The girl left feeling dejected. Of course. he would reject you. As a veteran, I would not advice them to confess to Yang Jungwon.
He likes someone else.
Before I get caught, I quietly moved out from my spot and ran away. I'm sure he didn't noticed me and if he did I know that he's not going to catch m—
"Hagene!"
Bullshit.
I stopped running but didn't faced him.
"Where are you going?"
"Home."
"But it's not even dismissal yet?"
What now, stupid?
"I wanted to buy mint chocolate," I answered still not facing him. "bye."
"Wait!" I was about to leave when he suddenly pulled my arm that made me face him. How dare you? "I want to buy mint chocolate too."
"You don't like mint choco."
"How did you know?"
As a person who have been crushing on you for 6 years, of course I would know your likes and dislikes.
"Just a guess," He stared at me. "what?"
"You really look like him."
My hands went cold. I avoided his gaze and looked down. "Y-yeah." I stammered as I remembered something.
He let go of me and I started walking towards the cafe. Upon arriving, I ordered mint chocolate ice cream and sat down. I didn't bother looking up at Jungwon when he sat in front of me.
I was eating silently when he suddenly flickered my forehead.
"What?" I asked, glaring at him. I must be so brave, glaring at a murderer.
"How about we talk?" He suggested while smiling so prettily. His cute dimples are showing and it's not helping me digest my food properly.
"Talk about what?"
"About him."
I almost choked. My hands were probably a lot more colder than this mint chocolate ice cream.
"I don't know what you're saying."
"Of course you know, you're his sister." He said, still smiling.
Ladies would fall for that, even I fell for that but it doesn't feel the same anymore. It was creeping me out.
"He doesn't have any siblings," I can't take this tense atmosphere any longer. I got up from my seat. "I better go, class is starting." The last thing I said before leaving, not finishing my ice cream.
Yes, the reason why I'm still suspecting him to be the murderer despite not having any solid evidence is because of that guy.
I should go visit him.
