Your coach says you are doing a 200 fly in the next meet. You get super nervous. As soon as practice is over you go to another lap pool and practice. You time yourself. Your time is only thirty seconds more than your hundred fly plus your fly time times two. You know that must not be bad for a first try. You look on the heat sheet and see some of the people in your heat are super fast. You practice more.

-At the meet-

Beep! You are off swimming your fly. You are pacing yourself. You have to keep your time for each fifty close to each other. You then realize someone is close to lapping you and you are not last. Your best friend from swim practice is behind you. At least your friend is there. You hear someone screaming for you. All your friends are cheering you on because they know this is your first time doing it. They were all in the heat before you...you are in the second heat because the other one was full. You touch the wall and bam! You got a good time and didn't get last. If only that were true...
