MISTY'S POV
We all said our goodbyes at the airport. Deedee boarded the plane half sober and half drunk. We made sure she boarded the plane before we left. Who knows? She might go somewhere and miss her flight.
After the plane flew, Yura and I bid farewell to each other.
---
I grabbed a taxi and is on my way to the condo to rest for a while before going to my new work.
Oh no! My stomach suddenly made a noise and it was quite audible that the taxi driver took a peak from the front mirror and I saw the end of his lips stretch. How embarrassing!
"Kuya, doon na lang po ako sa may 7/11 banda bababa" I said while giving him a fake smile while holding my stomach.
"Sige po ma'am." He replied.
I paid him and hurried to step down from his taxi due to embarrassment.
I went in and headed directly to the pastry shelf. I was contemplating on what to get.
"Ube cheese? or Chocolate roll?" I asked myself while my right hand was right below my chin.
I shoved the question aside and just bought both of them. I just can't decide.
"Coffee next" I said to my self while I navigate myself to the coffee dispenser.
A tall guy with messy hair wearing a red hoodie and black shorts with slip on sandals was right in front of the coffee dispenser.
His presence is definitely telling me that he just woke up.
It was finally my turn "Dark coffee or Mocha?" I asked myself again. I'm so indecisive but this time I can't buy two of them or else I can't rest.
"Moc-" I was a about to press the coffee dispenser as I made my decision when suddenly the guy, who was just infront of me earlier, cut me off and extended his arms in front of me grabbing something he left.
"Excuse me po, kunin ko lang wall-" He looked at me and I froze. Those chinito eyes is just so intimidating.
How small can Manila be? Why him? Why?
He seemed to be shocked for a while too after seeing me "Misty?"
I have to answer right? His hand grabbed his wallet and is still waiting for my answer, I think? It would have been better if he just left but no, he stayed looking at me with a confused face.
"Ku-kuya Yoshi" as I pushed the mocha button acting to be cool and all.
"Anong ginagawa mo dito sa Manila?" his eyes still fixated at me.
Gosh! Turn around and just leave. You're definitely not the type to entertain people. I just know.
"Dito na ako magtratrabaho, kuya" Hindi ko siya kayang tignan kaya doon na lang ako sa kape naka tingin.
"Ikaw? Dito sa Manila? Magisa?" He seems surprised like everybody else.
"Opo." I said and grabbed my coffee.
A little laugh left his mouth "interesting."
I smiled at him with my lips closed.
"Sige po kuya, una na ako" and I headed straight to the counter.
I was paying at the cashier while he was paying on the opposite side too.
Since coffee lang naman binili niya, nauna na siyang natapos "Una na ako Mist, see you around" and gave me a smile.
Damn that smile of his. Nope not gonna fall for that smile ever again. He rejected you, remember? I thought to myself. Yes, He rejected me in highschool when I had all the courage to confess my feelings to him.
"Sige kuya" I replied. Thank God he left.
---------
Flashback:It was the day before the seniors graduate when I decided to confess to kuya Yoshi.
He was on the court playing alone kaya I decided to confess my feelings before he graduates.
I approached him slowly at parang gusto ko nga mag back out eh pero I thought to myself na baka yun lang yung chance ko kasi I know he's going sa Manila for college.
"Kuya" I said silently. He seemed to heard me since we are the only people around.
"Mist?" He said as he was approaching me holding the basket ball on his side. He was covered in sweat but that was actually attractive to me.
"Congrats nga pala sa pag graduate" I was so shy since hindi naman talaga kami ganon ka close. He just knows me through Yura.
"Thank you" he replied as he wiped his sweat off.
"Kuya, I don't want to have regrets so I'm going to tell you now." My eyes were shut at the end of my sentence because I was already nervous at this point.
"Ha?" He seemed confused.
With my eyes still shut I had to say it "I like you, kuya" oh no! I said it, I said it. What now?
It was quiet for a while before I opened my eyes.
Pagbukas ko, he was just staring at me with a poker face. Tinignan ko lang siya waiting for an answer.
He placed his hand on my right shoulder and said "Thank you but..."
I wasn't really expecting anything but my heart sank to the bottom of my stomach. I know what he's gonna say next.
"I already like some else." That sentence broke me inside although I was already expecting that.
I kept my cool and said "Okay lang kuya. Sinasabi ko lang para wala akong pagsisihan. Wala naman akong gustong mangyari eh" I said while laughing.
He stood up straight and rubbed my head.
"See you around"I left the court immediately and ran to the cr. There I cried myself out and silenced every noise I made.
------
This is the part where I didn't want Yura to know. I was embarrassed to even talk her about what happened. If Yoshi wasn't her brother, I would have told her. Nakakahiya.
I entered the lobby of the condominium when suddenly, a guy showed right before my eyes as I walk up to the elevator. It made me halt in a split second. I almost spilled my coffee because of that.
"Do you still like me?" Kuya Yoshi said with a straight face asking me out of nowhere. What the actual hell is this guy talking about?
"Ha?! Gago ka ba?! " With a visible confused look I had to actually raise my voice since I was caught off guard. Take note, wala pa akong tulog tapos gutom pa ako tapos bigla bigla siyang lalabas kung saan saan at tatanongin ako niyan.
"Excuse me!?" He exclaimed.
