There's a thin line between hope and desperation.
You're ambitious for one, and you're distressed for the other. You hope one would come true someday, and you're desperate for the other to come true now. You can't wait.
Sara Khan, a 3rd year student in the prestigious school called UA, a student with a succesful future just around the corner. She can't wait until it's summer, not because of the vacation itself, but because by that time, she'll be able to call herself a true hero. She hopes that day will come sooner than later.
"Haha yeah! But anyway, sorry i was rambling! Hey, me and Yuuli are going to a coffee shop this afternoon, do you want to join us?" Hana, Sara's best friend asked, waiting patiently for an answer out of her, smiling.
It was the end of April, beginning of May, the time when the flowers of sakura trees already fell delicately to the dirt, together forming a soft blanket of pink above the earth's dark brown and parrot green. It was just as magical as when the trees first bloom at the beginning of April.
"Uhm...my mom actually wanted me to clean the house up a little before a few guests come by. Maybe another time?" Sara smiled back apologetically, earning a neck-cracking nod from her friend, almost cringing from the thought of her neck cracking by just nodding.
"That's alright! See you tomorrow then!" with a last wave, Hana was out of reach again, just like most of the times. They were almost always together, but she still felt so distant, like there was a thick brick wall between them, and Sara didn't like that.
But Sara waved back anyway, starting to walk in a different direction, down a small path with houses on both sides of the road. The sunset was shining from behind her, well, what was still remaining of the sunset. She didn't really enjoy night walks, but she used to, before her friends decided to tell horror stories for a whole night at a sleepover. That made her paranoid. Paranoid of what could be hiding in the shadows and alleys.
Of course she had a quirk, but if she got kidnapped by a villain, then she had little to no chance of actually escaping.
Her quirk wasn't as powerful as Shoto's or Dynamight's. She hopes she'll become like Dynamight someday, because she really looks up to him. Sara wouldn't call herself a crazy fan but, she got atleast a poster of him, a sweater and her lockscreen is Dynamight's logo. She opened the door to her small apartment. It was big enough for 3 people to live in, but luckily only her and her mother lived here.
Getting her shoes and jacket off before properly entering her home, she placed her duffel bag on the couch, stretching her arms above her head and making a bee line to the bathroom for a quick shower, a much needed one.It was 7 PM when she got out, expecting her mother to come home already, but instead, she was only met with the deafening silence of her home.
"Hmm, she probably got a longer shift....but she should've called me then.." she huffed, checking her phone for any possible missed calls. Nothing.
Her mother worked as a cleaning lady at an R&D (research and development) laboratory. She didn't get paid as much as the researchers there but she still got paid enough to pay the bills and put food on the table each day. Her together with a few more would have to clean each individual research room everyday.
So what was taking her so long today?
______________your p.o.v._______________
The sound of the heartbeat monitors was getting really damn annoying, and the sound of your steady breathing, researchers talking, lights above you making an annoying sound. Everything was getting annoying, and you didn't like doing nothing about it.
Your body was strapped down to a wheelchair sort with an oxygen mask on your face and cameras in each of the room's corner, watching you closely for even a blink of an eye, even if they could easily watch you through the one way window infront of you.
