CHAPTER SEVEN
The Rabbit waits for her to regain her consciousness. She sits Indian style on the floor in front of Jennifer's head, waiting for her to stir. The Rabbit leans in, hovering over her lifeless body, making sure she still sees her chest going up and down. "Yes, Papillon, rest now. Rest while you still have the luxury. This journey you are on will afford you no time for rest. So sleep now and dream." The Rabbit strokes her hair; her soft strokes stir Jennifer to life. Jennifer attempts to sit up, trying to collect herself and figure out her surroundings. Her body is seething with pain. She is stiff and sore and her ass still burns slightly.
The Rabbit attended to her wounds, applying ointment to the welts and lacerations and bandaging her wrists. Jennifer wants to stand, but her legs are still weak. Her vagina aches from the beating it took. "Slowly. Lay still. Do not try to move too quickly. Your body is yet weak, still in shock. You must regain your strength. I will help you with this, after, we will begin.” In The Rabbit's hand are acupuncture needles. "Your Shakti must be awakened.”
"I don't think I can do anything more. I just can't," whispers Jennifer.
"You are capable of more than you realize. Besides, with me, you will NEVER suffer," replies The Rabbit in that soothing voice of hers.
Jennifer is skeptical of a woman dressed in a latex bunny suit, but she hasn't lied to her. Her voice is so reassuring; it washes over her, calming her. "What are you going to do to me?"
"I am going to cleanse you body and spirit. There is something in you that should not be."
"What do you mean?"
"We all have things that we carry for way too long. They weigh us down."
"When I was under, how long was I gone?" She begins pieces things together. She knows that she has been there quite some time.
"Not long. A few hours."
"The door was there like you said it would be. I saw things. I felt things . . . things that happened to me when I was little. They felt real all over again."
"No, Papillon, those things are for you to know. Just know that the things you keep hidden hinder your spirit. Your spirit cannot guide you when it is weighted down. Your mind cannot be clear if it is constantly thinking of this thing you are keeping locked away. So no, I do not need to know what it is. But, I will help you be more at peace."
"Where is Chloe?"
"In the shadows, as always. Lie back."
Jennifer does as instructed and lays her head back on the mat she woke up on. The Rabbit rises and begins lighting several candles posted in various areas around the room. The room is still dark, but the candles cast shadows that flicker off the inanimate objects in the space, bringing them to life. The tree still stands in front of her. The candles glowing in the foreground make it look like its roots are on fire. The Rabbit sets candles around her in the design of a pentagram and lights them. They glow a strange reddish-orange color. She kneels next to Jennifer.
"I will explain to you what I am going to do. We are energy encased in a physical shell. That energy forms a perfectly aligned path through your center, from your mind, heart and spirit. Of course your heart is not in the center of your chest as it was once believed, and your spirit does not make its home in our vaginas, but it is still effective nonetheless. When we are born, that energy is pure. Sometimes traumatic things happen, and that energy becomes negative and misaligned. I will realign it. The needles will go into your chakra points, where the energy is housed. We will need to force the negative energy out so the chakras can realign and Shakti can again be born from your lotus blossom. There are 7 chakras in total, two needles for each. Close your eyes. There will be a slight prick, but after what you just experienced, it will feel like a mosquito bite."
