CHAPTER NINE
"Are you sure this won't come back to us?" Robert’s voice cracks as he asks Demetri, standing there stone faced and unconcerned.
"I'm sure. I've covered all the bases. There's no way anyone can trace the breach back to you."
"Good. The last thing I need is an investigation to contend with."
"I was careful." Demetri understands Robert's concerns, but he has concerns of his own. Now that he has fulfilled their required tasks, what of his status in this country? Would this be a bargaining chip for them to hold over his head for many years to come? "And what of our arrangement," Demetri asks.
"I've kept my end of the bargain. The U.S. government is responsible for you now. It took some convincing and a lot of favors had to be cashed in, but your record and identity have been washed. You're a ghost now. What about your other task?"
"She has new friends. I don't know yet the nature of this friendship. But I think maybe you don't know her like you think you do."
"What kind of friends?" Robert says with a pique of jealousy that Demetri takes notice of.
"Just one really, a woman. She has red hair. She's very pretty, not the type you bring home to mother."
"What is her name?"
"I don't know name, but I’ve seen her before.”
“Seen her? Seen her where?”
“The first time I attempted to see the Judge’s wife. I was there, waiting in the closet. A woman was there arguing with her.”
“What were they arguing about?”
“I don’t know. Money. She wanted to be let out of some contract. There was something about a kid. Obviously I couldn’t do what I was there to do. I saw her. I will never forget hair like hers.”
“Will she be a problem?”
“I don’t know. Maybe. They went back and forth for a while. I had to get out quickly and quietly. I was able to get out the back, the same way I came in. The stupid neighbor’s dog must have been loose and in their trash can. She came to the window to see what the commotion was. We looked directly at each other.”
“You didn’t think to mention this? She needs to be dealt with.”
“I will find her and take care of her. And what of my sister?"
"Your sister is content. She is married to a billionaire after all. She did what she did for us, and for you."
"I understand she does a lot for you as well," Demetri says with a snort.
"I don't know what you mean." Robert knew exactly what he meant.
Anastasia made her way through the lobby of the Legacy Grande Hotel on a regular basis, meeting with Robert in the same room at the same time for weeks now. Her mouth around his cock has grown into an obsession. They became each other's play thing. Neither of them is completely satisfied sexually by their spouse, so they give each other the gratification their bodies need. Anastasia was liberated sexually, her appetite was unrestrained. She was nothing like Jennifer. He could put it in places Jennifer's conservative nature would not allow. Robert knows that he opened Pandora's Box with Jennifer. She thinks she can become what he desires sexually, but Robert knows the real her. She can only fantasize about being uncaged, but she is tame and house broken. You cannot put a trained cat in the wild and expect it to survive, let alone thrive.
