Chapter 5- Coincidences

It was the day of the meet up I was supposed to have with Mr.Hiwatari.
I had gone out my way to put on a fancy satin shirt with a maroon plaid skirt and my overcoat since It was getting rather chilly as Winter approached.
I picked up my phone from the table my makeup had been scattered on to recheck the notification Ari had sent. 5Pm, Saturday, Gocchang.
Then I stood up walked over to my purse and picked out the note Mr Hiwatari had given me: 5Pm, Saturday, Gocchang.
Something doesnt fit right to me, Its too similar to be a coincidence right? I had made up my mind that work was more important to me than the reunion. Even though I felt bad about it I had already texted my team for the upcoming meeting at Gocchang or if it was, Im not sure. Brooklyn told me that he would be there at the same time too and since he should have been at the reunion too, him showing up for the work meeting makes me feel better about my decision.
Just when I was lost in my thoughts of trying to put pieces together and gathering my makeup my phone lit up with the notification sound, it was Mr.Hiwatari.
Mr Hiwatari: Good Evening, hope you are ready. Its our company's policy to give their employees a ride for meetings. My chauffeur will be waiting for you near the address you have given us on your resumè.
"What the fuck" I thought to myself, a chauffeur? A ride? Why would he go that far just to meet in a casual restaurant like that where people go for reunions!
I was SO confused I just replied to his message with an OK, grabbed my overcoat and exited my apartment.
Just as I was walking down the stairs I saw a black limousine standing near my apartment. I guess this is the "ride" he was talking about. Of course its Mr. Hiwatari he has to be extra.

I walk up to the door and peek inside even though my stupid ass could have given it a second thought and known that limousines usually have tinted windows.
The window slid down to reveal a rather groomed Mr Hiwatari.
I contemplated if I was dressed too plain for the occasion, maybe it was a super big meeting with overstate companies.
The chauffeur opened the door for me to go in and I did.
I took a seat opposite to Mr Kai
He was on his tablet reading through articles. And I was staring at his perfectly sculpted face.
He looked up to meet my eyes and it felt like stars exploded...well at least to me.
I widened my eyes a little and then focused my attention on the floor of the limo.
"So Miss (y/n) how are you liking your job so far?" Mr Hiwatari questioned as his eyes remained on his article. I knew he wasn't the type to fill in silent spaces by starting a conversation, but Im glad he did because it was getting awkward.
"Its nice, I like it...I like the team, I like Mr.Roy he is really helpful to all of us, I like the working environment and I like you" Kai's rather siren eyes looked up to me in a shock he was trying to conceal when it hit me what I had just said.
"...Sir. You are a great instructor and I couldnt ask anything better than working as your secretary!" I added to balance out what I had said. Mr hiwatari exhaled as his eyes went back to the tablet.
Awkwardness had filled the air but gladly we were at our spot. The chauffeur opened the door and I waited for Mr Hiwatari to get off but he waited for me to. A true gentleman I guess.
"Thank you" I said as I got off and adjusted my coat.
"(Y/N)!!!!!!" A high pitched voice called out to me. I looked up to see Ari's bright and happy face. Oh yes, of course she would know because they were meeting up here too, what a bummer.
"I was so upset when you said you were not going to show up, but look you came!"
I was hesitant to interrupt her and felt guilty about telling her I wasnt here for the reunion.
"And look you brought Kairi too!"
She exclaimed.
My eyes widened in surprise. I brought Kairi?
Mr. Hiwatari looked at me as if he knew all the answers to the questions in my head.
Right when Brooklyn showed up from behind Ari.
"Oh hey (y/n) nice meeting you" he winked.
"What is happening guys? Can someone explain? Ari? Brooklyn? ....Mr Hiwatari?" I looked up confused.
Brooklyn looked at me with the "oh shit" face.
"(Y/N) dont tell me you dont remember Kairi who we went to highschool with"
I looked at him "of course I do silly but what about him? Where is he?"
Ari laughed when I tell you laugh. She LAUGHED. And so did Brooklyn. Mr. Hiwatari beside me just sighed.
Brooklyn tried to form words while suppressing his laughter "Beside...you BESIDE YOU"
I looked at Mr.Hiwatari with a poker face and jumped in surprise.
"No way!"
"The guy I went to high school with, is the president of the company I work in?!"
