"I'LL BET YOU wish you hadn't given up Divination now, don't you, Hermione?" Parvati asked with a smirk.

Currently, they were at breakfast. It was a couple days after the sacking of Professor Trelawney. Parvati was currently curling her eyelashes around her wand while using the back of her spoon as a mirror. It was obvious she was trying to make an impression on Firenze, since it was their first lesson with him that morning. Venus shook her head in amusement and continued to eat more of her cereal.

"Not really," Hermione replied indifferently while reading the day's issue of the Daily Prophet. She casually turned a page of the newspaper and scanned its columns. "I've never really liked horses."

"He's not a horse, he's a Centaur!" Lavender exclaimed, sounding extremely shocked.

"A gorgeous Centaur . . ." Parvati added, sighing dreamily.

"Either way, he's still got four legs," Hermione stated coolly. "Anyway, I thought you two were all upset that Trelawney had gone?"

"We are!" Lavender assured her. "We went up to her office to see her, we took her some daffodils — not the honking ones that Sprout's got, nice ones . . ."
