THE REST OF the train ride was oddly normal. Everyone in the compartment had taken to their own conversations. Harry didn't seem in the mood to talk — much to Venus' dismay, but let's be honest, she would've just made a fool of herself anyways — so Venus stared out the window of the train. She wanted to try and see the Hogwarts castle for herself before she got there, but the night was rainy so it made it hard to see pretty much anything.

Finally, the train slowed down. Everyone in the compartments instantly scrambled to get their luggage and pets assembled. Venus smiled down at her owl, Aria, and went to go gather her trunk in her hands.

"Don't worry about your belongings," Harry finally said, speaking to her for the first time in a while. "Hogwarts usually sends them up to the castle for you. Whatever House you're sorted into, it'll appear in your dormitory."

Venus nodded. "Cool. Uh, Aria'll be fine?"

"Oh, no, take her," Charlotte interjected.

Venus grabbed her owl cage and followed Charlotte out of the doors. Very slowly, the crowd in the corridor of the train moved towards the door to leave. As Venus got closer, she could smell the scent of pine trees and rain. A very familiar yet still very foreign scent to her. It, once again, reminded her of Ilvermorny.
