Hi guys! Sorry this chapter took so long for me to get this chapter out!

I managed to argue with my parents to get one day off a week from classes and internships this summer... I will probably be totally exhausted on this day though because:

the classes are 4 hrs long and currently with my schedule unless I have to go to one of my internships I do both a morning and afternoon one (11-7:30)

I'm trying to change my schedule to make more time for myself (and this book ofc) so I am trying to balance things out because my current schedule has me coming home where I will sometimes cry or pass out before 8:30 pm lol.

ANYWAYS, I may be exhausted but I will try to write as much as possible for y'all!!!

Mari and Adrien wave back towards the older couple as they leave. As soon as the door closes behind them Mari lets out a squeal of excitement.

"Where are we going?!" She asks excitedly.

He smiles at her adorableness. "It's a surprise."

She reaches for his hand but stops mid-way. Her cheeks get a little rosy as insecurity blooms in her stomach...

He rolls his eyes a little before grabbing her hand and interlocking their fingers.

He thinks- It's so strange sometimes she has these odd moments of confidence where she'll be super bold and forward but at other times she gets super nervous and shy. Is it weird that I find it cute though?

He smiles and turns to see her blushing and staring at their hands and it makes his heart melt.

"Do you know why I call you sweetness?" he hums.

She shakes her head.

"It's because you're so adorable and incredibly compassionate. You're like pure sugar... pure sweetness." He rubs his thumb against the skin on her hand.

She blushes wildly and is unable to come up with a response.

They walk hand in hand mostly in silence except for a few questions she asks here and there about the surprise.

He sees her open her mouth again but before she can press any further and make him end up revealing his plans, he changes the topic. "The dress looks even more amazing on you than I thought it would."

For some reason the intimacy and sincerity of complimenting her like this makes him nervous, he can't help but do his nervous little back-of-the-neck scratch.

Mari's eyes go wide and she looks back at the dress. "W-wait you got me this?! Adrien, it must have cost a fortune! It's vintage and in perfect condition! It must have taken you hours to find it! And the shoes and stuff... you shouldn't have spent so much on me!"

Adrien rolls his eyes, "please Marinette, it was nothing. Plus I didn't have to go searching for the dress at all since it was already in my house."

Mari's brows furrow and her head cocks to the side a little. "It was already in your house?"

He nods and smiles warmly at her squeezing her hand in an affectionate kind of way. "It was my mother's from back when she was a teenager," he explains.

He says this facing forward so when she freezes he doesn't realize it at first and keeps walking. When he feels the pull back he turns towards her with a questioning look.

She stares with a blank expression for a moment or two. "I-I can't wear this! Oh god, I changed it! I'm so sorry! I didn't know!" She covers her face with her hands, too ashamed to face him.
