School Sleepover: Adrienette

Panic

They all start to hoot and holler in sudden unison. Kim even wolf-whistles and shouts "damnnnn Marinette you look hot!" Marinette's eyes fill up and overflow as she runs back to the classroom.

The next 7 short stanzas talk about the kind of objectifying harassment and comments girls hear every day. It probably isn't triggering but if you start to feel like it is YOU CAN SKIP THEM if you want... THE NEXT BOLDED SECTION IS WHERE YOU SHOULD START READING AGAIN!

She doesn't really know why she's crying but she just hates the idea of her classmates looking at her like that. Especially the boys. She is friends with a lot of them and she doesn't want their relationships with her to change. 

It all reminds her way too much of the gross comments she read online all about Ladybug which usually came from creepy middle-aged men. Memories of the comments swarm her mind. 

"I love that skin-tight suit but I'd rather see her without it!" "I know I'm probably twice her age but I'd gladly go to jail for an ass like that!" 

"Those cute pigtails remind me of a schoolgirl, I definitely wouldn't mind some role-playing with that chick." 

"Why couldn't we get a ladybug with a bit more curves that's all I'm saying." 

She felt sick to her stomach thinking back to all the comments. She had never talked to cat noir about any of it, she didn't even know if he looked at their comments as obsessively as she did. What she hated the most were the comments that shamed her or called her a slut because of her costume or implied that she would deserve it if something happened to her. 

It happens to every girl and it starts at a young age, but she felt that being Ladybug put an extra spotlight on her. Her confidence in her abilities as a superhero had grown but her confidence in herself and in her body had shrunk in many ways. She feels a squeezing in her chest and a pit in her stomach.

Adrien calls out after her "MARI WAIT!" He begins to run after her.

Everyone turns and glares at Kim.

Ivan: "really Kim?"

Nino: "cha so not cool dude" (y'all know the cha/ya sound he makes lol)

Max: "there is a 100% probability Marinette is crying right now" (Ummm yeah kinda obvious Max! 🙄 )

Marinette is crying under a teacher's desk in the classroom. She feels as though she can't breathe. Her hands are unable to stop shaking and her bottom lip can't stop trembling. 

She hears the door open and close and then Adrien's voice calling out to her. "Mari?! Mari?! Where are you?!" She tries to stay quiet, she doesn't want him to see her like this but it's hard to stifle her shaky breath and sobs.

He stops calling out to her and follows the sounds of her sobs. He appears beside her crouching down to her level and sitting beside her. 

He can see what's happening by looking at her, her hands, her lips. He looks into her eyes and knows exactly what's going on and how to help her get through it. Panic attack - he thinks to himself. He had a few after his mom passed. He remembers how horrible they felt and he hates the idea of his sweet princess having to go through that too.

He takes both of her hands in his and pulls her out from under the desk. Then he places her in his lap and begins to cradle her, being very careful not to enclose her chest or make her feel confined in any way but still comforted and protected.
