I am all but perfect
Built of numerous flaws
Never calm and collect
Unworthy of an applause

I don't have a porcelain face
Much less a delicate personality
I am but a lost case
To the standards of society

I have a raspy voice
Nothing close to being angelic
I have horrible clothing choice
That sometimes make me look manic

My manners are inadequate
As my height isn't admirable
I can't really mention any trait
That will be actually likeable

I'm a whistling teapot
Never calm and mature
Just ask the girls I've fought
And my parents who just endure

I was never photogenic
My teethy smile showed it
I rarely get asked to join a pic
Though you said "Just for a minute"

A minute had passed
Then came a year or so
That's when I finally asked
"Is this all just for show?"

To your cheeks red hue had soon crept
You took out a picture from your pocket
It was the photo of me which you'd kept
"I also put it in my locket"

"I'm ugly. Are you crazy?"
You had a look of surprise
"You're beautiful, m'lady"
It was now I who had huge eyes

Built of numerous imperfections
You accepted me as I am
Over the years you gave me love and affection
I had accepted my long awaited applause, while wearing white with my tuxed man.
