an 'ipad kid' is a label people use for children who use electronic devices and have a lack in social abilities

why shouldn't people joke about it? the definition people are using and the traits in jokes are all traits people with autism have: using electronic communication, rocking back and forth, the "coughing face", etc.
why is it harmful? its stereotypes! using things like using electronic communication, age regressing, not being able to control volume, etc. in a negative way pins a "you're weird if you do these" on them + pinning a thing on things people with autism can't control is really annoying. autistic people genuinely can't control these things.
what harm does these jokes do? making ipad kid jokes (especially as a neurotypical and/or if you have a large platform) normalizes making fun of people for autistic traits.
so in conclusion, don't use the ipad kid jokes in any situation.
