A/N: Hey guys, so I'm trying something new - a non-fanfic! So I know the picture is of Jade and Harry, but it's not based on them - I just love them! Plus, the characters look like them. So yeah.
This story is - somewhat - based on my life. I am a military kid. My best friend is a boy I met nearly nine years ago, when I was five. He too is a military kid. I moved overseas, but have now moved back. I do have a huge crush on him. That's it, pretty much. , however, will have a few other parts in here influenced by my own life - but that's all! Hope you like it! Comment and vote please!

"Okay, so you called us in to talk about Jadey? What's happened?"
A very tanned couple, dressed incredibly dapper, shook hands with their daughter's head teacher.
The Lawrence's were quite young, to have a five year old daughter. The woman - who was a fair bit more tanned than her husband, perhaps she was Middle-Eastern? - must have been no older than twenty-five.
The pair were extremely stylish for two parents. The man had a beard, and a James Dean vibe about him. His hair was exactly styled like the late actor's, and was dark brown. He wore a denim jacket over a red plaid over-shirt, then over the top of a plain white t-shirt, a pair of black skinnies and finally red converse. The woman wore a short, white romper, decorated with blue flowers. A brown bag was slung over her shoulder, a brown floppy hat was on her head and nude strappy heels were on her feet. The pair were stunning. Very, very handsome.
This took the headmistress back a little. She clearly hadn't had much experience with such young parents, and such good-looking ones at that.
"Yes, well it appears that there's a problem - ah, Mr and Mrs Howard, thank you for coming."
Her attention was turned to another couple walking through the doorway of her office. The Howard's were both quite young too, early thirties maybe. The woman was wearing a pair of flared jeans and a stripy shirt that was tucked in. The husband wore his work uniform - a dark green flying suit. This caught the eye of the other couple, The Lawrence's.
"Yes, well, the note Harry brought home did say you wished to meet with us" the mother replied, pulling up a spare seat to the desk. She gave the other woman a warm smile, before looking back at the head teacher.
"Well, I appreciate both of you coming in today. There are a few issues I wish to bring to attention - involving both of your children." As if to prove a point, she pulled out a red binder, and flicked to the newest entries.
"On their first day if school, Harry and Jade immediately took to each other. We encourage newfound friendships, so we were perfectly happy with the fact the pair had chosen to befriend each other. Especially, since their parents - you four - are all in the same boat. Just arriving here at the same time, and having the same job."
Mr Lawrence regarded the flying suit, grinning.
"You mean the RAF?" he asked. Mr Howard turned to him, his eyebrows cocked.
"You're in the RAF? And you're stationed at Shawbury?" Mr Howard inquired.
The other man nodded.
"Yes, I'm in the RAF Regiment. My name is Sgt Dennis Lawrence. My wife here, Rona, is also in the RAF. She's an instructor."
Rona smiled again, a dazzling one it was too.
"Yes, well, that's what I was saying. Harry and Jade will both be familiar with moving around and such, so naturally they sought each other's company. Anyway, what we don't encourage is appalling behaviour."
The parents all were shocked. Bad behaviour?
"Behaviour like sneaking off during nap time to raid the P.E cupboard. Colouring in each other's faces with markers. Climbing trees during lunchtime. Making paper airplanes and throwing them around when they are supposed to be doing their spellings - this list is endless. The fact that they think that it's acceptable to act so immature and irresponsible is worrying - and says a lot about their home lives."
Rona looked to her husband, as if to say 'is this woman for real?'.
"Excuse me, but how is this considered bad behaviour. Jade has never enjoyed napping. And trees fascinate her - all she's ever known are palm trees."
"I agree with Mrs Lawrence. Harry adores making paper airplanes - it's something his father taught him. And the markers clearly weren't permanent, so what's the problem?"
The head teacher was stunned. Obviously, no parent had ever thought to question her before. It was something that needed to happen more often.
"There are other things too, I'll have you know. Jade, she shouts out far too much. Questions too many things, thinks it's okay to have a say on everything. Plus, all she's interested in doing in P.E is dancing. And Harry, he's far too quiet. He needs to participate more, put his hand up in class. And, he needs to learn that To Kill A Mockingbird is not an appropriate book to read at school."
"Hold up - you're telling us that our son isn't allowed to bring in a classic - and incredibly sophisticated - novel to school? Why are you not congratulating him for being able to read it?"
"Yes, and how is their daughter participating too much, but ours isn't participating enough? What would rather they do? Smiled and nod the whole time? Harry, bless him, is quite shy" pointed out Mrs Howard.
"And Jade is being reprimanded for being opinionated? For asking questions? What kind of environment do you want our children learning in? And she wants to dance? How is that not considered Physical Education?" Rona cried.
Both sets of parents were very unhappy with what the head teacher, Ms Mansfield by the way, was telling them. Any good parent would be.
They all stood up, readying themselves to leave.
"If you're looking for displays of appalling behaviour, you shouldn't be searching further than your office!" burst Mr Howard, growing red-faced.
They then all leafy the office, just as the students all began pouring out of their classes.
Two young children squealed, and ran up to their parents. The hazel haired little girl was engulfed by her mother, and the shaggy haired little boy threw his arms around his mother. They were allowed to embrace for five seconds, until they were drawn to the lunches being served in the hall.
"You have a very beautiful daughter" Mrs Howard remarked to Rona, as they left the school gates. Rona smiled back at the lady.
"Thank you . . ."
"Jennifer. Call me Jen."
"Thank you Jen. Your son is gorgeous."
The pair continued to compliment each other's children, moving on to their outfits, and then their cars.
The husbands, who were discussing their jobs, chuckled at the pair.
"Next thing you know, they'll be planning IKEA trips and spending their week nights at bingo!" Dennis joked.
Me Howard laughed, and just as he was about to get in the car, he turned to the young man.
"We're christening our house on Friday, you and Rona should come. Bring Jade too, make Harry's day."
The pair shook on it, setting it in stone.
That night was the first of many, promising years of great friendship, for both the parents and their children.
