There was an ugly duckling
But it wasn't the one who turned into a swan you see
It was one who waddled around, quacking proudly
But he wasn't always like this
He was disliked by others
He was always bothered
And they constantly smothered
His small candle of bliss
The ugly duckling started started to feel alone
He felt like he had no place to call home
He didn't understand why people always talked to him in a different tone
But one day that all changed
He had seen a squirrel
That constantly caused many quarrels
It almost seemed that others had no morals
For they called the squirrel many worse names
But the squirrel still played
Without any aid
With all the mean words made
He was still so happy
The duck waddled up to him
Asked him how he stayed like a unique gem
Asked him how he doesn't have any problems
The squirrel only had one sentence to say
It was only five short, simple words
The squirrel took two steps forward
And said it so loud that all the animals had to of heard
He said,"I don't let it hurt"
The duck knew instantly what he meant
He meant that he doesn't let them bring him down
He wouldn't let them be the cause of his frown
That he would still wear his own little crown
And not let the words hurt him
From that day forward the duck was different
He finally let the words sound funny
He laughed them off with the slap of his webbed feet
He was the one who waddled around, quacking proudly
