Lachlan, Becky and Jessica were sprinting up Stredwick Drive to get away from the grown-ups that started to swarm around the Bullies camp. Once they were at a safe enough distance they began to walk at a steadier speed in a small formation. Lachlan at the front holding mikes crowbar, Jessica in the middle keeping an eye on both sides clutching the penknife she used to cut a hole in the tent back at the bullies camp, and last the youngest of them, Becky Lachlan's little sister. She was at the back watching to see if anything tried to sneak up behind them, Becky held nothing but a sharp rock that she found on the road as they had to leave the rest of their supplies and weapons back at the bullies camp. The street the three of them were walking up used to be the way Lachlan walked home every day, so he knew it like the back of his hand. It was a quiet, empty looking street back in the old days but now grass and weeds started to grow through the cracks of the road, burnt down cars all over the place and the occasional dead adult here and there. Suddenly they halted. Quickly, get behind this car his eyes fixed on two kids. One looked around Lachlan's age the other looked around eleven. Lachlan then decided to go up to them. The kids got startled to see Lachlan's appearance noticing he was holding a gun. Please don't take our stuff the older kid said, we don't have much supplies left please, please don't. Don't worry I'm not going to rob you. Oh thank you the older kid acknowledged Lachlan's reply. But, I want to know where you two are going. Well we are going to long bay college up the road, apparently it is safe there. The older Kid seemed very excited with himself as he said this. Ok we will help you get there. Come out girls its all right they're friendly. Oh Hello, the older boy greeted in a polite manner towards the girls my name is Tyson and this is my little brother Marlin. Hey, Lachlan said interrupting Tyson's eye contact with Jessica. There's one more thing you need to know Tyson. Lachlan gently pulled Tyson over to one side away from the others. If you harm my sister or Jessica in anyway, shape, or form I will kill you with no hesitation. Tyson met Lachlan's cold glare with a smile. Do I look like I'm going to kill you; you're the one holding the gun. Lachlan started to walk away, come along everyone we are going to Long Bay College. So the five of them started to stroll cautiously up Glenvar road. They were now in a new formation. Lachlan at the front, Jessica and Tyson on the flanks,Tyson now holding a metal baseball bat over his shoulder, Marlin unarmed in the middle and Becky at the back." Before we get you to Long Bay College", Lachlan started to talk, "you have to help us find a car and hot wire it". "Fair enough" Tyson responded. Jessica then walked ahead to Lachlan. "You don't seem very happy With them two coming along". "I don't trust many people these days only close friends and family members". "Hey" Said Jessica in a surprised tone of voice, "what about me". You saved me from those evil minded boys I can never repay you enough for that. You don't have to. Then Lachlan and Jessica stared into each other's eyes for a second and were about to touch lips when Becky rushed up to Lachlan. "There grown-ups coming, a lot of them, probably more than 30". Run for it Lachlan screamed with his voice almost going hoarse. They were running when another small group of adults blocked there path. Three mothers and a father. Well he has all the ladies said Tyson who was almost out of breath. We have to take these sickos out then we have to find some were to hide temporarily, Lachlan declared. The father came forward first in front of the 3 mothers, as if he was trying to protect them. When the father came close enough Tyson whacked it as hard as he could on its knee cap making a crunching noise with his metal baseball bat. Then Lachlan used the straight end of Mikes crowbar to plunge it into the fathers head. One down 3 to go Tyson said. Then came the Mothers Lachlan, Jessica and Tyson took one each. When they finished with the grown ups Lachlan, Jessica and Tyson were still running with Becky and Marlin running closely behind, but now rapidly panting and puffing. Lachlan knew everyone including himself was running out of energy so he decided to run to the nearest house before the mass of grownups behind them could see where they were going. Cut in here Lachlan commanded. They ran to the front door of the house and quickly kicked the door in and slammed it shut. Quickly Lachlan shouted half heartedly trying not to be to loud, we need to barricade the doors windows with anything you can pick up, and Becky find a quick escape route if we need it.
