Chapter 6

Lachlan,Becky, Jessica, Tyson and Marlin stayed in their hiding place that took a form of a house for 3 days waiting for the swarm of sickos to wash over. During the past three days only one adult managed to get in and was unnoticed as well. It was a father. A fat father. The fat father somehow unnoticed, managed to grab hold of Marlin who then screamed as loud as he could and Tyson rushed to the scene. The fat father was pulling Marlins arm off. Tyson bashed the father in the side of its head with his steel bat. But sadly half of Marlins arm was ripped off. Everyone else came rushing to the scene the father lay still on the ground presumably dead and Tyson had a towl to Marlins stump and holding his other hand. Marlin went very pale very quickly Lachlan had bandaged and a given a few pain killers to Marlin but it wasn't enough. He died shortly after. They buried him in the back yard of the house with a plank of wood as a makeshift tombstone with Marlins name inscribed on it.

Back to the Present

Tyson was kneeling looking lost and broken next to Marlins grave he hadn't moved from there for the past 2 days Lachlan,Becky and Jessica gave him food and water but they were running low on supplies. Lachlan stood next to Tyson, " we have to get going to LBC before we run out of supplies". Tyson shrugged." Come on man, look I know he was your brother and you loved him, and I know you are proabably not going to get over it because I'm angry as well because we've lost another good kid in this cruel world"."But we have to move to LBC now to survive". Tyson shrugged again, "what's the point". Tyson straight black hair lay over his face as if trying to hide the fact that he was crying. You guys go I'll stay here. I've decided that I have to do things on my own now. Come on man don't be that way, you- "No Tyson screamed, go, just go. Lachlan didn't argue anymore at that point and the 3 of them left the house leaving Tyson behind in his misery.
Shortly after that scene they arrived at Long Bay College. No way! Lachlan shouted in excitement, and the three of them stared in disbelief. Although most of the buildings in the school were run down, some of them were secure with boarded up windows, patched holes, and some sort of look out tower. There was a half built wall and there were kids. Kids. Kids working on building the wall, kids standing guard on the half built wall and kids working in a garden. This is amazing Jessica exclaimed. Then all of a sudden all the Kids at LBC turned an looked at the new arrivals. "Where's your leader?" Lachlan asked. A kid Lachlan recognised answered he's inside me and my boys will escort you through, But first hand over your weapons. Do as he says Lachlan said to Jessica and Becky. Lachlan handed his pistol over reluctantly.
They followed their escorts through LBC to the Gym. The gym looked like the most secure place in the school. The entrances to the gym were guarded with a boy, each holding some sort of brutal looking weapon. Once they walked into the gym, Lachlan and the girls were astonished to see all the big sections of supplies. "Wow", Jessica spoke in awe, look at all this food,water,medicine- and weapons Lachlan interrupted. Hey boss! One of the LBC kids shouted. "We got some new arrivals". "Welcome", a tall blonde headed, boy with a strong build appeared in front of them. "My name is Scott and I am the leader here at Long Bay College". Or as most people in This area like to call it LBC. Yeah I Know I used to come here before all this happened, Lachlan responded. "You've got a nice set up here" Jessica commented. Thank u very much we have worked hard to get this place into shape and organised. None of this would of been accomplished though if it wasn't for Richie over there. "Richie?", Lachlan said in shock. The name triggered Lachlan's memory instantly, he forgot all about his friend from LBC. "Lachlan!" A short Asian with a big square head shouted. He ran and hugged Lachlan. " Oh my god", they cried out at the same time, your alive. They both quickly started a long conversation of what's happened to them both during these dreadful times. During their conversation, Jessica and Becky talked to Scott involving whether they could stay or not, Scott so gracefully accepted." It's to dangerous out there I course you can stay". "Oh thank you, thank you, thank you", Jessica a said while her an Becky hugged him cheerfully. Richie I've got someone you have to meet "Jessica!", Jessica casually walked over. Richie this is Jessica, and Jessica this is Richie. They awkwardly shook hands. Then a wild grin grew on Richies face is this your girlfriend Lachlan?. No Lachlan and Jessica said embarrassingly at the same time. Okay, whatever you say Richie said still smirking. I'll find the three of you some where to sleep for tonight. Thanks Richie we appreciate it. While Lachlan, Jessica and Becky were settling down into their sleeping bags inside the fitness centre next to the gym, Lachlan was staring at Jessica while she was sleeping. " I can't believe how beautiful you are Jessica" he thought. Jessica suddenly awoke, Lachlan backed away quickly " uh, sorry I woke you" Lachlan said. Its ok, Jessica replied, you know, I never repayed you for saving me the other day. Lachlan smiled a bit too excitedly, not like that Jessica laughed. Lachlan blushed, sorry. Then he looked up at Jessica and she looked at him. And then there lips touched.

Meanwhile, a few hundred metres
from the entrance to LBC, the sea of flesh eating grown-ups has returned...
