(END OF SERIES)Note: The context of this story is post-cannon. At this point, the group has reunited with Emma, and they are now all living together in a mansion provided by the Ratri clan where their daily routine is similar to the one they had in the Paradise Hideout. (i.e., family meals, communal chores, playing, and most importantly: Norman never leaving his office).
Also, the main trio are aged up to 18 here (since it's gonna be a lil bit spicy), and all other ages fall accordingly :)
~Emma made her way swiftly down the hall, her fists balled up tightly by her side as she stared down the door at the far end of the corridor. Her brows furrowed in determination as she weaved past the rest of the children, who were also currently filtering out into the hallway from the dining room.
To an outsider, one would assume by her current demeanour that Emma was angry. But really, she was just very concerned, and slightly frustrated.
The thing is, Norman hadn't joined them for lunch again. He had also missed breakfast this morning, lunch yesterday, and all three family meal times the day before that.
Sure, she knew that Norman always had lots of work to do being the CEO of his company and whatnot, and sure, Vincent had been delivering him his food to eat in his office, but Emma also knew that it could not be good for him to be holed up in that one room for days on end.
She reaches the imposing wooden door of his office and raps a quick knock on it. The ginger haired girl doesn't wait for a reply from the other side though, instead bursting through the door immediately after having barely signalled her presence.
Norman's head shoots up from his place at his desk, about to scold the intruder for barging in so rudely before his face softens as he realizes who it is. "Oh, hey Emma," he says with a delighted smile.
The redhead laughs internally at his reaction. She loved how she was the only one who was allowed to just come in uninvited like that. But, she opts to keep her expression stern as she stared down the boy on the other side of the room. The door is slammed shut dramatically behind her as she takes her stance in the middle of his office.
"Why weren't you at lunch again today?" she demands, pointing an accusing finger towards him.
Norman is taken aback for a moment at her bluntness. Usually, Emma would greet him with a warm smile and a hug, but today it seemed he would not be so lucky.
He chuckles a bit at her uncharacteristic outburst. "You know I have a lot of work to do, Emma. And it needs to be done, for the sake of our family."
The girl lets out an aggravated growl. "Of course I know that, Norman, but you need to take care of yourself too! Your wellbeing is just as important 'for the sake of our family'!" She mockingly throws Norman's phrase back at him with air-quotation hand gestures.
"You don't need to worry about me, Emma. I'm fine. Trust me." He insists, smiling a little at the adorable look of concern on her face.
Emma scoffs at this. "There is no way that's true, mister. I've only seen you outside of this office exactly two times in the past four days. You've been eating by yourself in here more and more, and I don't even know if you take bathroom breaks." Norman simply watches in amusement as she paces back and forth across the floor.
