Mikasa and Hitch plodded along the street in silence. Mikasa completely calm with what they were about to do but Hitch, a nervous wreck. Hitch had listened to Mikasa's advice and Hitch decided to stand her ground and not run away anymore. Ever since Hitch was little, her solution to every problem was to run away.

A nine year old Hitch made her way to her class. Gripping tightly on her poster as she headed to her last class of the day. Science. She had to present to the whole class and talk about a plant which she researched about. Sure it was no big deal but she hates speaking infront of a large crowd. Her breathing became uneven due to nervousness, her heart pounding fast against her ribcage, she entered class and sat down on the class carpet at the very back. Her head hung low, trying her best to cover her face but it was to no avail due to her short hair. Others went up before her and she was next person to go."𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧, 𝐇𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐮𝐩 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬."-Mrs.Crosby announced and Hitch stood up slowly, her eyes staring at the ground as she made her way to the front of the class. She stayed quiet for a moment before unfolding her poster. She began to speak, but it was so quiet you could barely even hear her.
"𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧'𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮!"-A boy from the back yelled causing others to laugh but the teacher quieted them down.
"𝐇𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡, 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐲𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐭."-Mrs.Crosby informed her and Hitch nodded but didn't take correction.
She continued to speak and looked up at everyone every once in a while.
"𝐈... 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐧'𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐫."-A girl at the front this time said and Mrs.Crosby sighed.
"𝐇𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡, 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥?"-Mrs.Crosby asked her and Hitch nodded.
"𝐈𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐦 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐢𝐭, 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐚𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐢𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡."- Hitch began to cry as others laughed and she ran out of the class, holding her poster. She ran to the girls bathroom and sat down agaonst the wall cursing her shy behavior. She stayed there the rest of the class and no one bothered to come lool for her which made her a bit glad. Once the bell rang, she ran out of the bathroom, grabbed her coat since it was raining, her boots and backpack before dashing outaide of the building to the parking lot.
Her eye caughter a white toyota and she ran up the hill to it. Her mother unlocked the car doors and Hitch jumped in, closing the car door.
"𝐇𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡 , 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥?"-Her mother asked but received no response.
"𝐇𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡?"-Her mother looked down to get a look at her face and saw her red eyes and tear stained face.
"𝐎𝐡 𝐦𝐲, 𝐇𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐫𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠?"-Her mother asked her and Hitch finally spoke up.
"𝐈-𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝- 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐈 𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐮𝐩, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐭-𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰-𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐥-𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐞 𝐬-𝐨 𝐈 𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐭.."-She explained to her mother and she gave a warm smile to Hitch.
