The sky was filled with light gray clouds, parting in the perfect spot for a single beam of light to shine through. He could feel the roots and grass blades come undone as his head faded back into consciousness. Another night spent sleeping out in the cornflower field.

George got up and brushed off any dirt still clinging to his clothes. He walked to the man made pond in the middle of Kinoko kingdom. The cornflower field he liked to sleep in was also man made but that didn't stop him from resting there.

Once he got to the pond he kneeled next to it, scooped up some water into his hands and splashed it on to his face. The cool liquid was a much needed start to his day, especially after the night he had.

It's not like he was doing anything other than laying amongst the flowers with his thoughts overflowing his head. It was just another bad night. Except the bad nights have been getting worse. Ever since Dream XD showed up he's been having these dreams where Dream never went to prison and they lived how they did before all the drama. George and Dream would spend there days having fun with there friends, and every day they would meet up at the bench and watch the sunset.

Everytime they met up at the bench Dream would bring a single cornflower with him and plant it behind George's ear. And when George asks why this specific flower, he would say "The color reminds me of you." And when his hand lowers his finger tips would brush against George's cheek.

And then when he wakes up the next morning George would automatically touch his face. As if doing that would make the feeling last longer. These dreams felt so real, to the point where when he wasn't asleep it felt like a horrible fever dream. Real life didn't feel real anymore.

George could sense someone walking up behind him. He was still kneeling infront of the pond. "Hey Gogy! Watcha doing down there?"
When he lifted his head to look behind him he saw a slightly concerned Karl looking down at him. "Oh, hey Karl." George said in a slightly scratchy voice. His throat felt a bit dry.

As he got up from the ground he answered Karl's question with "I was washing my face and I guess I just kinda zoned out."
"Well ok. Oh hey, can I tell you about this book I was reading the other day?! It's really interesting." Karl asked with enthusiasm. "Um, sure." George responded. Maybe it'll help keep his mind off things.

After a while of listening to Karl talk about lost cities and kings, the taller got up and stated "Welp! I gotta go, see ya later Gogy." With that he waved and left. After a few seconds George got up as well and decided to sit out in the cornflower field. Sapnap had once called it the Gogy field because of how much time George spends there.

Once he sat down he held his hand out infront of his face and watched as small bright red mushrooms with white spots sprout from his palm. They where called fly amanita mushrooms. He had read somewhere that if you where to eat one of these you would get visions.

During the earlier days of the Dream smp Quackity, Karl, and Sapnap would ask him to make them so they could "plant them around the community house" but really they just wanted to get high off eating them. The memory brought a smile to his face.

"What are you doing?" An echoey voice said, startling George and getting him to turn around. He calmed a bit when he saw who it was. It was Dream XD, he went to stand next to George. George looked up at him and answered "Nothing really, just thinking about the past."
"The past?" Dream XD responded in  calculated voice.

"Yeah, in the earlier days my friends used to ask me to make them these mushrooms..." He trailed off as the thought became saddening.
"You're sad." The god said.
"I... Maybe." George said in a whispered tone.
"You should close your eyes, let you mind drift into unconsciousness. Things will be much better, I promise." Dream XD told him in a calm tone, devoid of any emotion.

George thought about it for a bit, ultimately deciding to do as he was told. As he slipped his eyes closed he could feel a hand rest upon his head. And just like that he was out.
