His mother clutched his hand tightly as she smiled Kiri felt his heart sink as he nervously waited for her response.
"I've always known that, I didn't want to pressure you into a marriage but with my health going downward I had to, when I'm gonna please follow your own path." She smiled warmly as tears streamed down his face maybe from joy that she she understood but he couldn't tell.
Her grip on his hand loosened as her gaze shifted to the ceiling and her breathing slowed until her chest stopped rising and falling, Kiri noticed and immediately jumped up and started to shake her.
"Mom?.... Mom! Mom!!" Kiri yelled as he shook her wishing she was just sleeping and she would wake up but she wasn't moving the physician came in to confirm she was died as maids peeked in the room and Kiri fell on the floor crying.
He couldn't breath and his head was spinning he quickly ran out of the room as tears streamed down his face he felt his throat constricting as he ran out of the castle and out to the stables, he held onto his horse that his mom had gotten him when he was younger and cried as he held the horse tightly around its neck.
A few hours later the news had spread and other castles were on their way to give their condolences but the only person Kirishima cared about seeing was the angry ash blonde boy who always seemed to cheer him up or comfort him in his time of need.
Kiri was still in the stable when Bakugou rode in, he had gotten there before the other kingdoms got there he had actually told his mother where he was going this time because he wanted her to know they were at least friends. Bakugou slid off his horse quickly and ran up to the sobbing boy and hugged him tightly.
Kiri sobbed into the boys shoulder not even able to get a word out to Bakugou as Bakugou just held him.
"She's gone." Kiri said through choked up sobs as he shook his head on almost disbelief and beat on the boys chest.
Kiri needed time to grieve so Bakugou sat on the ground when Kiri collapsed and still held onto the boy tightly not letting go.
A few days passed and the funeral came, Bakugou was there but he couldn't go up and comfort the boy all he could do was shake his hand and give him his condolences Mina had to be by Kiris side cause everyone expected they would be getting married soon now that his mother was gone the date was pushed closets and Bakugou knew he would be seeing Kiri less and less due to the boys new responsibilities.
Kiris mom was laid to rest in the family cemetery right next to his father now he had no family and he was all on his own set he king and to marry a girl and to soon have kids of his own but that's a life Kiri didn't want, all he wanted was his mom to be back so he could run off to the woods with the one person he truly was in love with and live happily ever after in a cabin but his life wasn't a fairytale it was more like a rocky nightmare that he couldn't escape from.
At the end of the day Kiri was exhausted from crying and he could almost feel nothing his bedroom door opened and there stood a hot ash blonde boy with a slightly unbuttoned shirt in his door way.
"Damn those maids are hard to sneak past." Bakugou grumbled as Kiri sat up and rubbed his eyes a bit.
"Hey," Kiri said, "Didn't expect you to show up." He walked up to the boy and looked him up and down a bit.
"Well you need more comfort since you seem to be all alone now and nobody else is gonna give it to you besides me." He said before hugging the redhead, Kiri cried softly into the boys shoulder Kiri was happy someone finally understood him and the person who understood him was someone he loved.
