Falling - Bucky Barnes

Present day

* you live at the avengers compound and you and the avengers know each other really well *
You wake up to the noise of the smoke alarm and start to wonder who it is so you get up and walk downstairs to see Bucky trying to make food. "Bucky are you trying to burn the building down?" You ask.
" no... I'm just trying to make breakfast."
"Oh god well i can see that its not going to well" you say while trying not to laugh. You smile and look down at the burnt food. " oh buck go sit down ill make you something "
Bucky laughs a little and walks to the seat across the counter. You soak the pan in some water and pick up another one. Then you start making some eggs and put some toast on. While you wait for that, you wash the burnt pan and put it away. Once you serve the food up, you slide it across the counter and it stops just in front of Bucky. "Thank you doll"
" its no problem buck, next time remember that the food isn't meant to be burnt." You both start laughing. You start getting really cold and Bucky notices that your shivering. He unzips his jacket and wraps it around you. " thank you " you smile at him and you two lock eyes for a minute then Bucky looks at the clock on the wall. " the others are out and they wont be back from a while so do you wanna watch a movie?" Bucky asks you.
"Yess, can we watch a horror?"
"Of course" you walk upstairs to your room and Bucky follows. Bucky makes himself comfortable and pats his hand on the bed telling you to come sit down. You lay there and watch the movie. You get really scared half way through and jump into his arms. Bucky looks at you and wraps his arms around you and you guys stay like that for the rest of the movie.
Bucky's POV
I know y/n gets scared at these types of films but its cute when she's scared. While we were watching the film, she jumps into my arms in terror. I look at her and all i can think is that she is so adorable but also such a strong woman. I know she doesn't think of me as more then a friend, but i think i might be falling in love with her... she gives my butterflies every time she walks into the room. I just want to kiss her. She has been really secretive recently and i cant figure out why.. i think she is hiding something from me and I'm getting worried that something has happened.
Y/n's POV
The film finishes and I get up to go get ready. "Thanks for that buck, I'm gonna go get ready."
"Okay, don't take to long y/n, they are gonna come back soon."
"Oh okay ill be quick" you walk upstairs and start getting ready. You pick out a tight, short dress and do your hair and makeup. Someone barges through your door so you turn around and you see its just Nat. "Heyyy y/n, did you wanna come shopping with me and Wanda?"
"Ooo yeah, ill get my shoes."
"Okay meet us downstairs in a few minutes" Nat shuts the door. You get your shoes and jacket on and meet them downstairs. "I'm ready lets go"
"Looking gorgeous as always y/n" Bucky tells you.
"Thanks" you say with a glowing smile on your face. You grab the car keys and the girls follow you to the car. Once your in the car Wanda blurts out "what was that about?"
"What was what?" You reply
"That" Nat says
"Wait bucky?" You question.
" yes bucky!" They both say.
"What about him"
"He clearly likes you y/n" Wanda added.
"What? No he doesn't!" You state while blushing.
"OH MY GOD! YOU LIKE HIM!" Wanda screams.
"No I don't"
"Yes you do!" Nat exclaims. You drive off and you guys go do some shopping. Your on the way back to the car when you get a message from bucky.

"What you smiling at y/n" Nat asks.
"It's probably bucky" Wanda mumbles.
"It's just a message from bucky." You answer
"Told you!" Wanda laughs out.
"Why are you smiling y/n is it because you like him?"
"Will you stop about that! And he just wanted to let me know that stark is throwing a party in a bit." You say and You all get in the car and you start driving home. It says silent the whole way back. You park up and say "Lets go get ready." Nat you and Wanda all get ready in your room until you hear a knock at your door. "Come in"
"It's me" bucky announces as he walks in."we'll give you guys some space." Wanda says and her and Nat walk out of the room to join the party. You and bucky laugh and talk about how weird nat and Wanda have been acting. Bucky takes your hand and leads you down to the party.

The part goes on for hours until everyone leaves and its just the avengers sitting on the couch. You, Steve and Bucky are the only ones that aren't drunk. "Lets play truth or dare" Tony yells. Everyone agrees and plays a few rounds until it gets to you. "Y/n truth or dare?" Nat asks.
" uhh dare"
" i dare you to tell us what you're thinking about."
"Hahaha weird but um i cant" you say while awkwardly looking towards bucky. You didn't want him to know that he's who you were thinking about. Wanda tells everyone that she can read your mind and show it on the monitor if you don't say it. "Wanda no please."
"come on don't be a baby" Thor chuckles. You stay silent not realising what was about to happen...
