Ana's POV

"Thank you," she appreciates as she saunters in, her eyes, observing her new environment with a little smile on her face.

"Hold up, before you go any further," I stop her movements. "I will like to know your name, and maybe a little description of who you are, because you know, to avoid some unnecessary events."

"Don't worry, it's alright," she beams. "My name is Cecilia,"

"Cecilia...." I trail. "I swear I've heard that name from someone, but I can't place my finger on whom and where."

"He must have mentioned me," she grins.

"Who?" I ask, bewildered.

"Ike," she shocks me, nodding as I bestow her a questioning glimpse. "I'm Ike's sister."

"Right," I affirm, motioning her to my apartment.

"Yup," she glimmers and follows my direction while I lock the gate.

"I guess I don't know much about the man who got me pregnant," I scoff, reaching her to push the door ajar.

"Don't get him wrong, I'm sure he has his reasons," she advises, seeming to have heard my low murmur.

"You heard?" I have to ask.

"Sharp ears," she tells, gesturing to the said part of her body as I precede her into my home.

"Please sit," I persuade, nodding at the seats. "What would you like to have?"

"For now, a glass of cold water will do," she informs, doing as I said, and lowering herself in a single chair.

"The irony of how we ask for cold water when we know our country doesn't have a steady electricity supply," I shake my head as I walk to the kitchen to fetch her a glass.

"I know right?" She inquires in a laugh, provoking me to halt in amazement though she can't see me. "Just get for me in any temperature if you don't have."

"You really do have sharp ears don't you?" I query, strolling back to her with what she requested in my hold.

"Yeah, it's a gift," she giggles, taking it from my arm.

"Sorry though, I have the tendency to mumble now and then," I apologize in case she got offended at my statement.

"It's fine, besides you were saying the truth anyway," she aims to assure, and I nod.

"I have to keep my mouth shut around you then," I mutter, forgetting who I'm with.

"Not necessarily, but..." she shrugs.

"Fuck!" I laugh in realization, sitting adjacent to her in a nearby cushion. "That is one nice pair of ears, can I borrow?"

"Please do," she chuckles. "You wouldn't know the dirty things this ear has heard that sometimes makes me want to puke!"

"Eeew!" I clamor and we both laugh. "That must be nasty."

"Very," she confirms, pausing to gulp down her water. "So finally I get to talk to my future sister-in-law without hiding this time."

"I won't call me that," I scratch my neck. "Your brother is getting married to someone else, isn't he?"

"That moron?" she polls dismissively. "No one wants her anyway."

"How?" I quiz, wanting to understand what she's implying.

"It is an arranged marriage," she divulges. "Planned by my dad and the governor's wife."
