i've been out for a while due to lack of motivation and shit like that, school and stuff too, but i'm back. i'm probably going to be updating more often now since summer and nearing and the manga got me fuckin REEELING

the canon chapters are back in the works, so as a thank you for waiting gift, here are some things you might not have known about the reader/happened

 - while (Y/n) always draws the lil science maps for the group, Senku was always there behind her telling her what to draw, what to connect it to, and where to put it. if she got it wrong he would flick her or give her a small nudge in the right direction

 - Chrome tends to think of (Y/n) as his older sister and vice-versa, so it's unlikely that he'll ever become a love interest

 - While Senku did kill your parrots, it was completely by accident. you two had a base inside a ravine and he was doing some remodeling while you were offline. he placed a tnt down thinking nothing of it as it was a distance away from his room and the inventory, he just forgot that your room happened to be within the vicinity of the bomb

 - ^ in the end he rebuilt everything the exact same to cover up his mistake and played it off as "maybe you left them while we were exploring" or "taiju killed them" (on the inside he was panicking because he knew if u figured it out that you would kill him, or worse, break all his equipment)

 - the village is still under the impression that your a goddess

 - you attempted to make chicken nuggets the village specialty along with renaming the village McDonalds in honor of the fallen fast food chain, only for you to realize that bread was hard to make and with no bread came no breadcrumbs

 - Jax's petrified body remains unfound (we might see it soon tho)

 - there have been times where chrome found you buried up to your neck in sand when he was walking along the shore looking for shells for ruri, he screeched the first few times but eventually grew used to it and even buries himself next to you sometimes

 - you poked chrome's hair spike once and it pricked you

 - senku spaces out in thought at very random times, so you'll catch him stopping in place of doing something to think. he stays frozen for about 15 minutes or more, which is pretty amusing. he's not aware of anything happening to him during that time since he's so deep in thought.

 - ^one time he found himself buried neck deep in sand next to you after he snapped out of it, he was never more confused than at that moment

 - you like being buried in sand cuz it's warm and reminds you of a very gravelly yet comfortable hug

 - hay fever hits you really fucking hard, so your basically prohibited from ever leaving the hut during the spring. the only exception is walking around the camp with a mask on

 - senku's old form of affection was handing you snickers when he noticed (when taiju told him) you were sad/down, to congratulate you, and to give you after a long day

 - in turn you would always show up at the science club with a blue gatorade to give him

 - the most exposure to romance senku ever got was when he third-wheeled taiju & yuzuriha and when you would force him to watch shoujo with you

 - he's a closet weeb, he's the one who got you into anime in the first place. before then you just read a bunch of manga and disney movies (you didn't have much exposure to the internet before high-school)

 - whenever senku didn't have a big project to work on, he would basically become japanese michael reeves and build random machines to entertain you (he lowkey had fun making them too)

 - suika looks up to you because you provided her with her helmet as to help her see, yet you keep forgetting that it's her and keep thinking it's a watermelon with legs

 - out of everyone, you're the closest with chrome, suika, and kinro from the village

 - you steal senku's supposed love interests because you're just so seggsy

 - he doesn't care, but he dislikes how they distract you from your work and how it gives you an ego (and he might be a lil jelly)

 - you have a butterfly knife you want to sharpen but are prohibited from by the law and taiju/yuzuriha, senku is the only one who encourages it

 - he regrets it because he's the only one you would actually stab

 - taiju and yuzuriha are basically your parents

 - you lived with your grandpa before petrification and had a very strong bond with him, you live in constant worry that Tsukasa might have already destroyed his statue

 - senku and you played ssb (super smash bros) to solve disagreements, fights, or choosing a restaurant to go to. you both are around the same skill level so it's a fair fight (unless you use items)

 - back before petrification, senku would follow you around everywhere even though he knew you were capable of defending yourself, he wanted you to be safe and knew you didn't really do well in public alone

 - ^ he still does it subconsciously (when even when he's deep in thought), if you go out to get more materials he'll follow (he covers it up by claiming you're gonna forget what you need)

i would also like to put out there that i'm looking for a new editor! i will still go through each chapter myself, but having an editor would lighten the load a bit, y'know. with my newfound motivation and freetime, it is likely that i'll update one or twice a month. please message me if you would like to edit or beta read this fanfic along with others i may write in the future.

also, i'll be redrawing most of the art in this book. following that, i would like to firmly say that the character i draw is my own take on the reader, the reader's physical appearance is still up to you. the reader's name with remain (y/n) and i will continue using terms like (h/c) or (s/c). i repeat, the character i draw is my own personal take on the reader that you do not have to use. if you don't like how i do things, then you don't have to stick around and read this.
