Letuck, the son of the deserting saiyans Asara and Beetos and who lived his whole life in the Orin temple, was magically trapped inside a grill for his transformation into a giant ape causing the destruction of the temple. He could not remember what had happened, but now he was trapped, with no chance of moving or escaping. And it stayed like that for 2 years until something happened, there were some strange force within him, and the force overcame him, who could not make a single effort to contain it... And then the container exploded. And part of the temple exploded with it.
Now Letuck was in the Other World, he had lost his body walking around in the form of soul which pretty much resembles a puffy cloud. He followed the other sould around in line towards the giant table of King Yemma, the judger of the Other World, there it will be decided which souls can go to heaven or be condemned to hell, where they would be purified and reincarnated into new people.
-- King Yemma! -- There was a small blue creature coming towards the great palace. -- King Yemma - Sama!
-- It's Ponzu again -- Yemma said. -- Do something. Do not let him get in here, fast!
The ogres who served him rushed to close the great heavy door quickly. After they did it was in vain as Ponzu walked through the door like a ghost and entered the great room.
This room's floor was made of yellow pottery with a long red carpet. It was narrow on the sides, forming a line which ended before a colossal table. Sitting at that table there was a colossal ogre with rose-colored skin, horns on either side of the head, had a big black beard and wore a purple suit. He also had a menacing glace.
     Ponzu approached the table:
     -- King Yemma!
     -- Ponzu, what a surprise!
-- What do you mean by "what a surprise!" -- asked the visitor. -- I come here every day. How could you forget that?
-- Yes, I'm sorry. My memory is not very good. My doctor told me that I should worry about Parkinson's -- he said casually.
-- It's Alzheimer's, sir. -- one of the ogres corrected as he shook his glasses. -- Memory is Alzheimer.
-- Yes, to worry about Alzheimer, -- he laughed loudly and nervously. -- Tell me Ponzu, what do you want here?
-- I come here every day, leaving my beloved workplace unprotected against the invasion ...
"... How could I known he would be so annoying... If I only knew I would have sent him right to hell, even though he was a Kami. But why would the Kaiohs give him that new job?" Thought the judge.
--... looking for a mighty warrior to be my assistant guardian of the portals. -- Ponzu continued with his speech. -- Have you found my mighty warrior?
-- I'm afraid not Ponzu, -- he replied colloquially. -- Maybe you'll find him tomorrow or maybe you'll never find him. You'd better give up your foolish quest. Nobody knows there is such a "portal room". I myself only heard of this place because of you.
-- I can't miss any chances! I must keep the portal room protected at all cost.
-- There's no one here for you today -- Yemma was irritated.
-- Very well -- said Ponzu -- I'll come back tomorrow.
Ponzu turned and left. The palace doors had already been reopened.
-- Call the next one. -- he ordered the attending ogres.
-- Let's see. This one is called Letuck, a saiyan from planet Earth.
King Yemma was holding his head in his fist, indifferent as he was flipping through a little book.
-- His sentence will be... Hell.
-- I protest, your Honor -- one of the ogres said.
-- What? Are you questioning the decision of the Great Judge King Yemma?
-- No, Great Judge -- the ogre explained nervously. -- It's been a long time since any saiyan walked by here. They are from a warrior race and maybe he is the fighter Ponzu has been looking for. And if he agree, we will never hear of Ponzu again.
A quick smile appeared on his immense face.
-- You're right, this is going to be a good fighter -- he tapped the little book. -- That saiyan goes to heaven. Now bring Ponzu back and let him know that we have found the fighter he wanted.
Ponzu is brought to Yemma's office, excited.
-- Who is my mighty warrior?
-- It's this saiyan from planet Earth.
-- A saiyan!? Oh no, I refuse -- Ponzu crossed his arms -- The saiyans are terrible, violent and sadistic. There is no good saiyan that could serve me.
-- You do not know what you're talking, Ponzu -- replied the judge -- this saiyan has never done anything wrong in his life. And I, the Great Judge make no mistake.
-- That can't be possible. It was the saiyans who wiped out my entire race. That's how I died! -- he continued -- I can not accept that any saiyan is good.
-- Are you not afraid that if you go against me I'll change my judgement about you and send you directly to hell, Kami? -- the judge asked.
-- That's no use -- Ponzu challenged him. -- I can get in and out of hell at any moment.
The two exchanged glimpses of sparks.
-- Then we'll have to do it the old way -- resigned King Yemma.
The immense judge takes another little book and begins to leaf through it.
     -- Let's see ... July, 12 year 744, he stole a sheep from a farmer...
-- I said. No good saiyan.
-- Wait, I'm not finished. He stole a farmer's sheep, but let her go... when the police arrived. -- He looked at the blue being. -- It seems that he has already received the punishment he deserved for life.
-- That can happen to anyone ... -- Ponzu replied. -- Go on.
-- Here's another one... August, 30 year 744, he stole and ate the monk's special rice dish, but it was spoiled and Letuck had food poisoning for a few weeks...
-- That's for him to learn... -- he replied, excited -- I mean, go ahead.
-- January, 4 year 746, he shot someone with a stolen weapon...
-- Now, that's the kind of thing you cannot deny. That's why the saiyans should go to hell. -- He said exaltedly.
-- I'm sorry, I skipped a part, -- corrected the judge, flushing the previous page.
-- Letuck tried to shoot a stolen weapon, but he was holding the gun wrong and hurt himself with it.
Ponzu did not answer this time.
-- April, 21 year 747, when the monks were in the city he tried to rob a store, but dropped the goods and ran out when the owner of the store took a shotgun and ran after him.
-- March 11, year 748 -- the judge went on -- Letuck tried to crush a group of people with a large stone on the top of a hill, because they made fun of his monk's clothes. He pushed the stone but it ran after him instead.
-- Is that all? He did not did anything else? -- Ponzu asked.
King Yemma took a peek of the next case and was worried for it was when the saiyan transformed into Oozaru and destroyed the Orin temple, in addition to killing several monks.
He closed the book and said yes.
-- He looks weaker than a giant fly on the planet Fligen -- commented the blue alien -- yet, he intended to do wickedness. If he becomes stronger I am sure he will succeed in doing bad stuffs.
-- I've shown you that there's nothing wrong with this kid. Stop making up stories, take him for training and stop bothering us -- the judge said irritably.
     -- No -- replied Ponzu.
King Yemma was more than angry right now. Regardless of that he had an idea.
-- Let's make a Deal. Test this saiyan for a whole day and if he fails you bring him back and I'll send him to the place he deserves.
-- Testing for a day? -- the little blue guy was talking to himself.
Noticing he might fail again the judge recalls:
-- Ponzu, remember how many years have passed since you trained your first warrior.
     He remembered.
     -- I accept.
-- Good, you can take the boy -- he said cheerfully at last.
Ponzu snapped his fingers and a rapid smoke formed where there was Letuck's soul. It also quickly dissipated from where Letuck appeared on flesh-and-blood and a halo on his head. He was also wearing the Gi of the Orin Temple, but this time the clothing was painted pink matching the tone Ponzu was wearing.
-- Wow, it's me again! Letuck said, examining his rebuilt body. -- Even my hair is back!
-- Follow me, saiyan -- Ponzu said as he walked toward the exit.
-- I'm coming, Ponzu, Mr. Ponzu, sir -- he replied.
He rushed to meet the pace of Ponzu. When they left, the ogres and King Yemma was parting, blowing whistles and rejoicing, hoping that Ponzu would never bother them again.
-- I thank you for bringing my body back and choosing me to be trained -- Letuck caught up with him.
-- Don't be so happy about it -- he said indifferently -- I'll test you for a day, if you do not follow to my expectations you'll be taken back where you were.
-- It's all right, Mr. Ponzu -- the saiyan said, discouraged.
-- And do not call me Mr. Ponzu, -- he smiled -- call me Master Ponzu.
-- As you wish, Master Ponzu.
After some steps, Ponzu took a chalk case from his clothes, pulled out one chalk and drew a circle on the floor, putting the number 2 out of it. As soon as it was finished, the inner of the circle turned black. Ponzu jumped into the newly formed hole and told the saiyan to do the same. They fell against gravity on the other side and stopped on a grassy surface.
Floating above the mass of yellow clouds in the pink heavenly sky there was an earth structure surronded by a mystic bubble. They were there next to a common round house, like an igloo near a pyramid with more height than width.
-- This is my house. But let's not waste time with presentations, our time is short and I want to know your skills. So let's go to the place where I work.
Letuck and Ponzu entered the pyramid-shaped building. Inside there was a room with corridors to the four directions and a large blackboard in the background.
-- Don't touch anything -- he said to Letuck as the blue alien stepped into one of the corridors.
Letuck did not move, but he watched everything understanding none of it.
Ponzu returns with his chalk box in his hands. He makes a sign to follow him as he draws a circle on the floor and writes some numbers. Both of them entered this new circle.
-- This is a planet called Serte. Nobody lives here, so we can train at will.
The planet was a great desert of stones.
-- I want you to show me your power. Do you see that stone, saiyan? -- he pointed to a distant rock. -- I want you to destroy it with your best shot.
-- As you wish, master! -- Letuck started to feel excitement.
Letuck ran toward the big stone and launched a flying kick. As the blow struck there was no scratch on the stone, but instead Letuck held his foot to the floor whimpering with pain. Ponzu watched that scene without understanding. And decided to approach.
-- Why didn't you use your power to destroy the rock? -- he asked, a little frustrated.
-- I used all my powers. -- Letuck naively replied. -- This stone is too strong!
-- It was not this kind of power I meant.
Ponzu raised his hand and fired a blast of blue light energy into the stone, which exploded into several pieces.
-- How did you do it? Letuck stared in amazement.
-- I used my inner power -- he turned to the saiyan -- Have you ever done it?"
     -- I didn't know such a thing was possible!
"This is very strange. All the saiyans who invaded my planet could shoot much more powerful energy waves" Ponzu thought.
-- Why were you sent to Earth? -- asked the blue alien. -- Perhaps your parents sent you on a mission to destroy the planet?
-- Destroy the planet? - Letuck wondered -- No master. I have lived in the Orin temple since I was born. I've never met my parents.
-- Very well then. I'm going to teach you how to shoot energy blasts through the hands. -- The blue alien kept his hands behind his back -- First you need to understand that your inner power is much stronger than your physical power. In a fight, punches and kicks can do some damage, but nothing compared to the destruction your inner power can do. In fact, you can destroy entire planets using only your inner strength, but you cannot do this just by using your physical strength. Do you understand?
"What are you saying, Ponzu, now you're teaching saiyans how to destroy planets? Are you crazy!? Ponzu thinks to himself.
-- I want to try -- Letuck said excitedly.
Letuck raised his arm and managed to shoot a wave of blue energy that tottered, but managed to hit a rock, breaking a piece of it.
-- Very good for your first attempt, saiyan. -- He smiled.
     -- I can do more!
He used both his hands and fired one big energy ball which completely destroyed the stone.
-- Amazing. -- Letuck looked at his hands excitedly. -- If I can shoot with my hands, maybe I can do it with only my fingers.
He pointed and fired a beam of thinner energy causing a hole in another stone.
"It has to be a joke, or this boy is a prodigy in the fights or he's been hiding his skills from me and now he's making a fool of me". He thought angrily.
-- I'll try to use my mouth this time...
-- Saiyan, time to change the planet. -- he said bitterly, interrupting Letuck's amusement. -- There are other things I want to test you.
     -- Yes, Master Ponzu.
Ponzu picked up another chalk and drew a circle again. The planet they were in was all covered in snow and ice, in addition to having very cold temperatures.
-- This is the planet Polaris, one of the few planets where heat is almost nonexistent. -- He turned to the saiyan and found him trapped in a block of ice.
-- WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING! YOU SHOULD BE USING YOUR INNER POWER TO HEAT YOUR BODY, NOT TO FREEZE !! -- he throwed all his fury at him, but noticed the saiyan was petrifyed in the block of ice.
Ponzu throws a ray of blue energy at him melting the ice around the saiyan's head.
     -- P-Ponzu, it's v-very c-cold here. -- he trembled -- I'm f-f-freezing!
-- You have to use your inner power to warm your body. -- he warned smoothly.
     -- I will try.
Letuck was silent for a while, building his strength and concentrating, but he gave up with a squeal of defeat.
     -- I can't d-do it, master.
     -- Did you tried shouting?
     -- Shouting?
Letuck screamed and shouted ou loud many times, longer and longer, but it did not work.
     -- Master Ponzu, it's n-not working.
-- You must not be shouting the right way -- Ponzu warned.
     -- D-Does it has a right way t-to shout? -- he exalted
-- Apparently it does! -- answered Ponzu
-- Right! I will try one more time.
Letuck took a deep breath and gave the longest and loudest shout he could. Ponzu was covering his ears protecting himself from the sound. When it was over, the saiyan was panting.
"This test certainly showed me that the saiyan was not hiding any power from me. Ponzu, you really are a genius." the alien thought.
-- It's all right, Saiyan. You can't do it. I'll get you out of there and we'll come back.
-- No master, leave me here. -- Letuck said desperately -- I will be able to do this, leave me here even if I freeze to death. I promise I'll do it. I do not want to go back to King Yemma!
-- Don't be silly, -- an involuntary chuckle appeared on his lips -- this is your first day of training. It is natural that you can't master all the techniques on the first try. Even I who was a prodigy of my race took a few years to be able to use my inner energy.
Letuck remained silent ashamed from his weakness. Ponzu rescued him from the ice block and they both returned to Ponzu's house.
-- Now go get some rest and we'll continue your training tomorrow.
-- Really? -- he was surprised -- Will you not get rid of me for being too weak?
-- Ahn... No. Without you I have no one to help me with my work. So I have no choice, but to accept it. Then consider yourself lucky.
"There must be something really wrong with me for choosing to train someone from the same race which has wiped out my entire planet. Maybe one day I will regret that decision." Ponzu thought.
-- Yes, Master Ponzu -- a snort came out of his stomach -- All that training left me starving to death. -- Letuck laughed cheerfully.
The next day, Ponzu is in the main room of the pyramid and Letuck follow him holding several apples in his arms and eating one by one while Ponzu was speaking.
-- I'll explain how the portal room works. When the universe was young and the supreme kais couldn't use the technique of teleportation they used these chalks to move from one place to another in the cosmos. So, this room contains a chalk for each planet, dimension and place that exists in the Universe. Whenever a planet is born or destroyed, a chalk is also created or destroyed.
He showed one of the rooms and there were a lot of chalks of various colors.
-- I work hard to separate and organize all those chalks. As you can see, none of them has a name.
-- You must have found some really powerful guys while travelling around -- Letuck said, biting an apple.
-- I've found some that have caused me some problems. That's why I have to be very careful that no stranger enters in this room, otherwise they can go any place in the universe. Even the most forbidden places. -- he continued. -- For that reason I need a guardian stronger than myself to help me out.
-- Master -- he snacked the last apple -- I'm not strong yet.
-- You'll be. I've prepared a special training for you. We will visit many planets during your training. -- he showed a green chalk -- And just between us -- Ponzu made a position of whom tells a secret -- we are dead and are forbidden to visit the world of the living, but none will find out if we go to places where there is no one to talk about it.
     -- Great! I can't wait for it.
