Joe's POV

"Ugh," I groaned. "Thank you so much for coming on such a short notice," I said to Demi.

"Of course. I came right over," Demi said to me in a loving voice. "You sound stressed. What's up?" She asked me.

I leaned my head back onto Demi's passenger car seat and let out a huff

I leaned my head back onto Demi's passenger car seat and let out a huff. I was beyond frustrated. Moments earlier Sophie had pulled one of her biggest stunts. It was almost as if she was trying to ruin my life.

"Sophie really just tried to send me back to jail," I said running my fingers through my hair in a stressed voice.

"What happened?" Demi asked.

"You know how she's been letting us have Maddie a couple nights a week, right?" I said.

She nodded in response.

"Well, she dropped Maddie off around noon. We got to enjoy like a good hour or so with her then suddenly Sophie comes running up to the door with the police saying she wants Madison back and she knows I'm there. I had to rush to sneak out the back because of the No Contact Order. I LITERALLY called you seconds after it happened," I ranted.

"Oh my god," Demi said shaking her head. "I can't believe she would do that," she said.

My heart was beating so quickly and I could feel the anger rising up in me. My emotions soon got the best of me as the mixture of anger, confusion, and frustration all built up in me and tears fell from my face.

"I just don't know what to do anymore Dems," I cried.

Demi didn't say anything but she grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers to let me know I wasn't alone. I looked up at her as she looked at me with sorry eyes. I knew she wanted to help and she didn't know it but she was. Her presence alone was making this entire season of my life easier. My biggest regret was letting her walk away from us.

"Do you care if we go to the liquor store?" I asked her

"Do you care if we go to the liquor store?" I asked her.

She hesitated but nodded before driving to the closest liquor store. I knew this probably wasn't the best decision to make but I didn't care. I needed to relieve some of the stress. I had done so good and been doing so well. I could at least have a small drink to take the edge off.
