Adrien had to get dressed for school quickly. Today was the day they left. After he got back home he realized that he had cut it pretty close and could have easily gotten caught being out of the house.

He was ready, all he had to do was brush his teeth. He went and took care of the last thing he had to do. As he came out of the bathroom Nathalie came into his room to get him.

"Oh, Adrien, you're ready, come down and eat then we will be leaving in 10 minutes."

Adrien grabbed his bag and suitcase and wordlessly followed Nathalie downstairs.

"Hello Adrien."

"Father?" Adrien asked. Gabriel didn't see his son very often, let alone join him at breakfast, so this was new to him.

"Well who else would it be, fairy godmother?" Gabriel quipped, sarcastically.

"I- I- no it's just unusual to see you join me." He stammered out, shocked.

"Hmm, well in any case I just wanted to know...who's the lucky girl?"

Adrien almost spit out his Lucky Charms. Lucky girl? What?!

Gabriel saw Adrien's reaction and rephrased his question,"I meant to ask who is the girl you like?"

"What girl? I don't like anyone."
•^this is paining me to write^•

"Oh come on Adrien, yes you do. You can see it in your eyes. You like someone, so who?"

"I-i don't know if I like her like that be I have gotten closer to a girl, we are becoming better friends." Adrien replied, thinking of Marinette.

But what Adrien didn't realize was that his expression was betraying him. As he spoke about this girl his expression became soft, soft eyes and a soft smile. Gabriel noticed his expression but chose to keep his thoughts to himself. He knew that look. That was the look Gabriel had when he and Emilie were together, when she was alive and well.

Ahh, how he missed Emilie. Hopefully her and Adrien would understand why he's doing what he's doing.

Nathalie came down and announced that Adrien had to go, so he grabbed his stuff while Nathalie and Gorilla followed behind him. Gabriel watched as the trio got into the car and left.

When Adrien thought about Marinette he had the brilliant idea to stop by the bakery to see if she wanted a ride to school.

"Nathalie can we stop by the Dupain-Cheng bakery?"

"Adrien we are supposed to go to the school."

"But I was going to pick up my classmate, Marinette and we're already early."

She seemed to accept his argument and had Gorilla take them to the bakery. Adrien walked in.

"Oh well hello Adrien long time no see, do you want any croissants?"

"Oh, Ms. Cheng you know I can't say no to your croissants. But I also came to see if Marinette wanted a ride to school." He replied with a smile.

"Oh call me Sabine, all of Marinette's friends do. Tom, grab the boy some croissants and I'll go see if Marinette is ready."

Tom got a bag and filled it with some croissants while Sabine went upstairs.

Sabine opened the hatch that led into Marinette's room. She wasn't in the bed so she must've been in the bathroom. "Marinette, Adrien is here, he wanted to see if you wanted a ride."

Marinette was in the bathroom when she got this news, specifically she was trying to figure out how to do her hair as she brushed her teeth. She was so shocked the tooth brush fell out of her mouth. She quickly spit out the tooth paste and rinsed her mouth. She didn't want Adrien to wait very long so she didn't put her hair up; or rather she forgot.
