After school ended, I heading to track practice. A new thrower was there. He came over after I pulled my shoes on.
"Hello, beautiful. I'm Steven." My eyes widened. No guy has ever been that straight forward. "I'm a senior here now. And you are...?"
"My name is Nina Chapen."
"That's a cute name for a cute girl." I rolled my eyes. That's been said about a million times. "Sorry for my lack of flirting skills. I just moved here from Tennessee, so I don't know how people flirt here in Louisiana."
"Or you could just suck." I said. He looked offended. I winked at him and walked away. He smiled and we ran a lap together. After the team ran a few laps and stretched, we headed to our stations. I was a thrower too, so Steven and I walked to the station together. He tried to flirt with me and I got tired of it. "Today is jut not a good day to flirt the whole practice, Steven. I'm serous about sports and I want to win. So can you please stop distracting me?"
"So I'm distracting you?" he flirted. I rolled my eyes and kept walking. "I'm sorry. I'll stop if you want me to." I nodded.
"Maybe you can flirt after practice." She smiled and nodded his head. And we went to throw.
