!Trigger warning: Blood and violence!

Writers POV

After their encounter, they returned inside, and the rest of the dinner was quiet. Ariel was quiet from then, Aiden didn't question about the sudden change of behavior. They went to sleep after dinner and barely had any conversation. Ariel woke up the following morning on her side of the bed, alone. Aiden was nowhere to be found as she looked around the room. She stood up and dressed after taking a shower. A knock came on her door a few moments later. When she opened the door, one of their warriors stood there with another woman. The petite woman was dressed in maid uniform and carrying a platter of food. Her black hair was neatly pulled up in a bun, she had brown eyes, and her lips were slightly parted. She appeared nervous, and sweat was forming on her brow.
"That's your breakfast, Luna." He said, and the maid entered the room, the maid placed the food and left with a bow. The warrior, on the other hand, remained by the door.
"Where is your Alpha?" She inquired, and he looked at her.
"His Highness is currently attending a meeting. I was ordered to guard you." She nodded and inquired once more.
"When will he return?"
"Please forgive me, Luna, but I am unable to provide you with an appropriate response. Later, His Highness is scheduled to visit the far end of the pack border, thus I have no idea when he will return."
He didn't respond properly because m Aiden had already explained the reason for their visit. She suspects they aren't aware. She walked closer to the food and closed the door after a brief thank you. She shook with rage as she lifted the lid and saw the content in front of her eyes. On the platter was a raw rotting piece of human flesh, and on top of it was a blood-soaked letter. The lid had obscured the smell, and now the strong rotting odor hit her nose full force, making her cringe and cover her nose. She took the letter and slid the lid shut. She opened the letter and read it.

'Your dearest Mia, is with me, writhing in agonizing pain as I write to you. A piece of her flesh from her thigh is missing, which you can see in front of you. I hope you would love the piece of your dearest lady.'

Her jaw tightened as she clutched the letter.

'She's bleeding, though I'm not sure how because she's a vampire. Anyway, dear mutt, challenge accepted. I've heard your lover boy is going to visit the "far end of the pack" with a group of warriors and the Alpha. What a tragedy it would be if they were mysteriously slaughtered or went missing. Don't you agree? Now how about playing a game? You have thirty minutes, kill the mutts you grew up with and save your lover boy before they kill him and his dogs. Sounds good? And I'll get you soon myself, that's if your lover boy doesn't die today. The clock is ticking!"

She burst out laughing like a psychopath, a murderous dark look in her eyes.
"I'll be glad to finally get rid of those jerks." Her eyes darkened, and she crushed the paper in her hand.
"I'll fucking kill you." Her thoughts were racing around the possibility of never seeing Mia again, and how much she was being tortured. Her agonizing scream was ringing in her ear. She closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths to try to relax. She hurriedly went through her clothes, but she hadn't brought her any of her combat gears. After searching for a while she wore olive green skinny cargo pants, a black tee with a neck sleeve, black combat boots, and a leather jacket. She changed her hair to black and wore her hair up in a bun and covered her face with her neck sleeve. She tucked the dagger and left the pistol, which lacked a silencer and would draw a lot of attention which she didn't need.
