"Training with him can't be that bad!" Aiden tried for the tenth time that morning to calm an anxious Seraphina. She'd been pacing back and forth in their chamber all morning.
"You've got no idea. Goddess knows how long he lived on this god-forsaken earth, and how many great warriors he trained. I had seen him train juveniles when I was a child. And it was heinous." She shuddered and hugged herself. He sighed and drew her closer, and she buried her face in his chest.
"You are incredible at combat, sword fighting, and many other things I am unaware of. So don't be concerned, and show him how incredible you are." He said this, and she lifted her head to look at him. She pecked his lips with a smile.
"You should now get going. He'll be upset if you're late." She nodded and hugged him before pulling away.
"I'll see you later." She said and he kissed her forehead. They said their goodbyes, and she walked away."Tėtis?" As she stood on the open lawn surrounded by the forest, she called out to her grandfather. Her gaze darted around in search of him, but he was nowhere to be found. A slight breeze reached her neck, and she turned her head slightly to the left. As she evaded the attack, the Demon's eyes glowed and a smirk formed on his lips. With both of her hands, she forced down his other hand that was trying to sneak a blow on her ribcage. Her gaze shifted to the left as she felt his right leg push through the air towards her head. She leaped and jumped back, her right leg straight and aimed at his chin. He leans back and grips her leg. She spins and lunges with her left leg, aiming for his head. But her brow furrowed when Emmerich smirked. As she falls to the ground with force, a powerful kick lands on her lower ribs, blowing air out of her lungs. Emmerich stands up straight, his smirk disappearing when a powerful kick lands vertically on his leg and causes him to lose his balance. She rolls over, her knee pressed against his throat, and pulls the dagger from the slot on Emmerich's waist. His eyes went black as a force threw her off of him; she regained her balance before collapsing to the ground. Emmerich leaped back on his fit, his palms rises in the air, and her eyes widened. She used her arms as a shield to protect her head, pressing her elbows together as scorching fire strikes her arms full force. She cocked her head, trying to keep her legs rooted to the ground so the force of the fire didn't knock her over. Her throat vibrated with a groan as the fire sizzled her arms. The blow comes to a halt, and she stands up straight as Emmerich takes down his defense,
"You fought well."
"Hot! Hot! Hot! Hot!" she bellows. Emmerich laughs as she jumps around, blowing air to her searing arms."Did someone make kebabs?" Aiden mused aloud, pushing open his bedroom door as the stifling scent of burnt meat invaded his nostrils.
"That bloodthirsty demon did! He turned me into a kebab!" She growled as she showed off her burnt arms. His eyes widened when he noticed scorch marks on her cheeks, neck, torso, and a portion of her legs. He dashed into the bathroom and grabbed the first-aid kit.
"Why would he make you into a kebab?" As he cleaned her wounds, he inquired.
"He attacked me suddenly and without warning, I dodged and attacked back, and he dodged. We were in full combat and I had pinned him down but he used his power and seared me with fire. Cora refused to allow me to use her power, so I had to fight him using only my human abilities. He claimed it was to hone my combat skills, and he scorched me in fire for the entire afternoon. And Cora isn't aiding me in healing." She said and he chuckled
"What are you giggling about!" He stifled his laughter as she growled.
"Nothing," he said, surprising her by licking her burnt arms.
"What are you up to?"
"A mate's saliva aids in faster healing." As she sat quietly, he licked all her burnt wounds slowly. After that, he used gauze to bandage the wounds.
"All done!"
"Thank you." He kissed her forehead as she smiled and thanked him.
"Now wait here, I'll be back." He fled the room quickly and returned a short time later with a platter full of food. He drew a chair and set the tray on top of it. It contained beef and vegetable stew, bread, and chocolate bread pudding. As he prepared a bowl for her, she stared at him, baffled.
"What is all of this?" She inquired as he spooned a mouthful of stew into her mouth. She closed her eyes and gulped it down, savoring the rich flavor of beef and vegetables.
"It's incredible!" She exclaimed, and he smiled.
"I'm pleased you liked it,"
"Did you make this?" He nodded when she inquired as she took another mouthful.
"I was planning a romantic meal after your training session, but after seeing your fried hands, this is better than my other plan." He chuckled as her lips formed a slight pout.
"I'm sorry I ruined up your plans."
"Don't be, this is far superior to a romantic dinner." He kissed her on the forehead and continued to feed her a spoonful of stew. After he had fed her and eaten himself, they sat close, savoring each other's warmth, and talking until sleep overtook them. She was curled up in his arms as they both slept blissfully under the warm duvet with the moon shining over them through the open window. They awoke curdled in each other's arms as the morning crept in. He'd aided her in taking a bath, shampooing her hair while she relaxed contentedly in the warm water-filled tub. He changed her bandages after assisting her in changing into some comfy clothes; her wounds were largely healed from the previous day. Just like he had done the night before, he had brought her breakfast, fed her, and then went to attend to his duties.
Someone knocked on the door as she was preparing for her training session. Freya timidly peered her head through the door after Seraphina had requested them to come in and stepped in with a small dish.
"What is it, Freya?" She inquired with a smile.
"Your highness mentioned your hands were terribly scorched, so I brought you this." She took the mug on the tray in her hands and inquired,
"What is this?"
"My Lady, it's an herb tea. My mother had taught me. It will hasten the healing of your wounds." Freya said and Seraphina's eyes brightened up as she took a sip from the mug.
"This is excellent. Thank you very much. Make this for me again later." Freya's eyes brightened up with a smile as she said this. She nodded her head.
"Of course, My Lady," she replied cheerfully.
She had gone to her training session after she had finished her tea. The King of Demons surprise attacked her again, but this time from a different angle, and by the end of the day, she was thrashed to a pulp.
Days passed as she tormented herself to be the best at combat, both in human and supernatural raw power. Even though she was stronger than ever in her human form after two weeks of hardcore training, she was still struggling to control her shifting.
"Come on Seraphina! Concentrate all of your energy on reaching Cora and removing your barrier!" Emmerich gave a snarl.
"I'm trying!" She said it with her teeth clenched.
"You are not trying hard enough!" He shouts, and she growled, claws protruding through her nails and fur sprouting from her skin.
"That's it, now let her come through!" He said this as he observed her transform. Her body suddenly jerked and she was back to normal.
"What happened?"
"She's not going to come out!"
"Then try cooperating with her. Make her permit you to take control!"
"It's not that simple!" She snarled
"It will be if you try hard enough." He snarled, and she growled once more. Her skin was replaced with fur in an instant, her nails grew into claws, and when she opened her eyes, they were violet.
"Now that's how you do it!" Emmerich laughed but his face fell when the lycan's head turned to the south. She dashed into the forest, her snout lifted in the air.
"Yes, and have him deliver it personally..." Aiden couldn't finish his sentence as a force threw him off his feet and pinned him to the forest floor. His eyes widened in response to the unexpected attack, but they were filled with surprise when he saw those violet eyes. Her scent instantly told him she was Cora. He smiled and licked his face constantly, and his hearty laughter filled the air. He sat up after she moved over.
"My Queen." Cora licked his cheek happily as he bowed his head in greeting. She nudged him to stand and motioned for him to follow her.
"Would you like to go for a run?" he asked, frowning. He inquired, and she barked. While she waited for him, he smiled and removed his shirt and pants. He morphed into his lycan. Denzel approached her with caution, bowed his head, and Cora barked gleefully. He lifted his head, and they circled each other, sniffing here and there, while Seraphina and Aiden watched from behind the barrier.
Denzel pinned her down and licked her face; Cora flipped them over and began running through the forest as Denzel pursued her. The Alpha couple spent the entire evening running around the forest, soaking in each other's warmth, mixing scents, and generally enjoying each other's company. Emmerich smiled as he watched his Granddaughter run around and be happy.
The beasts had arrived at the lake where Aiden had taken her for their second date just as the sun was about to set. They shifted back and as they sat down, Aiden and Seraphina smiled at each other. Their lips were locked in a passionate kiss as the sun was setting over the horizon.
"I had planned to bring you here tonight, but Denzel took care of it for me." As they broke off the kiss, he said curdling her face lovingly.
"Why?" she inquired.
"You'll find out in a moment." As he looked up at the sky, he smiled. She heard an explosion and then saw a brilliant flash of light as they exploded in the sky, filling it with colors and light. With a twinkle in her eyes, she watched as some of the fireworks shot straight up before exploding, while others shattered into thousands of sparks. The colors were so vibrant that it felt like it was daylight. Aiden smiled as he stared at the female in his arms, someone he could call his own. He draped his arm over her naked shoulder as he drew her closer to him, curdling in each other's warmth. After an hour, the breathtaking sight of fireworks exploding in the sky ended, and they returned to their chamber. Ecstatic and content._____________________________
