Anxiety. Many suffer from it, some experience it to the extreme, while others have it in a way that can quickly be cured with simple words of reassurance.
Eden was in the middle. She always noticed the way she felt like she could fall over, or the way her legs seemed to want to detach from the rest of her body when she was sitting down in the principals office.
She was the type of girl who felt her spit catch in her throat when seeing anything less then an 85 on her exams.
The girl would notice when her neck would slightly flinch under pressure, and the countless sleepless nights from the thoughts that would alum over her.
Restless.
Anxiety.
But she was lucky, she didn't have it to the extreme. She had social anxiety at a young age but quickly cured that by forcing herself to compliment strangers on the street.
"1,2,3," the 13 year old spoke to herself before going up to a 17 year old who desperately wanted to be a punk.
"I like your shoes," Eden said, truthfully. The older looked back, even through all the piercings and dark makeup on the girls face a slight smile shined through.
"Thanks babe," said the older before speeding off on her skateboard never looking back at the preteen who's heart was practically beating out her chest.
An easy fix. Right?
But nothing could help right now, not even the short talks with strangers could fix the way Eden was feeling right now.
After the incident with the lady at the diner that the girls had already forgotten about, they were on their way back home, after the couple hours of soaring around their neighborhood in Lisa's dirty van.
The loud teens were now on their way to drop Eden off at her house. All though the energy in the car could be deemed as calm and lighthearted that was far from the distant truth.
Home.
That's were they were taking her.
A place she didn't even want to be near.
Eden was afraid of the conversation that was yet to come.
How would they react? What would they say? What would she say? Would she get in trouble? Would they yell? At her? Or eachother? Would the kids cry? How was she supposed to comfort them? Could she leave the house again? Would the kids want to not go back in the morning? Would Eden finally give up?
So many questions and possible scenarios would be answered in less then 4 minutes.
The girl had a stir inside her, she felt over whelmed. She has been on edge ever since the party where she met Jung kook.
She felt something every since they met, like the storm was getting closer and closer to the shore and it was sure to cause damage.
And she didn't know this but her home life was only a little fracture of the storm.
After a 4 minute drive with Eden making meaningless jokes, trying to distract herself and unsuccessfully trying to calm down her nerves. She arrived at the blue house with big trees surrounding it.
The engine stopped causing a screeching noise on the pavement causing the 17 year old to gather her stuff and open the car door sending back kisses and flying a "I'll see you tomorrow baes," to the others in the four wheeled vehicle.
And luckily nobody suspected a thing, the other girls in the van felt cheery and happy, not having to feel their hearts being weighed down by basically sending their own friend into her own personal hell.
