Dragons and Fairys

Soth Forest part 2

I yanked on some clothes and flew out the window. Just because I'm a fairy doesn't mean I'm small in my true form, I can stay human size and just have fairy wings if I want to. I was normal size right now.

The world rushed past me as I zoomed through the city of Magnolia to the South Forest.

"Lucy, please be alright." I whispered.

I hesitated as I floated in front of the looming dark trees. "For Lu-chan" I closed my eyes and entered.

The forest stretched on for what seemed like forever, I was following the light I believed was Lucy. I got ahead of it do I stopped and found myself behind the tree line of a meadow. I looked up to look for the light.

That's when I heard it, Lucy's laugh. But what I saw next surprised me even more. A large, red, scaly, creature flew over my head and landed in the meadow. I recognized it instantly, the Flame Dragon. I gasped and clung to the tree. A warm golden light passed over head.

"Natsu!!! You cheated!!!" The light landed in front of the dragon and transformed into a pouting Lucy. The dragon made repeated noises that resembled a sort of chuckling.

What she had said filtered through my head, Natsu! I put the pieces together. Fire Mage, unknown creature, disappearing every afternoon. Natsu was a dragon.

To confirm my thought the dragon changed into a spiky pink haired smiling Natsu. "I didn't cheat and you know it Lucy." He said with a smirk on his face.

I didn't understand, how was this possible?! Dragons weren't supposed to be able to take human form. And Lucy knew, I had to get away and think.

Another dragon appeared, white and blue, also considerably smaller than Natsu. I immediately knew it was Wendy. Innocent little Wendy, was a dragon.

I couldn't take it anymore. I flew away quickly, they wouldn't here my paper thin wings fly away. I realized about half an hour later I had been flying in wrong direction.

"Crap." I muttered, dragons weren't the only dangerous creatures that roamed the forest. Imps(dark Fairys), zombies, goblins, demons, evil spirits, and worse inhabited this forest. Not to mention the rabid wolves that cursed the dark places.

I turned and tried to get out as quickly as possible. I wasn't quick enough.

I felt something rip my wing. "Ahh!" I screamed out in agony. Pain tore at me as I fell to the ground. I pulled myself up, something red covering my vision. I wiped my eyes and found my head was bleeding. I looked to my attacker, a rabid wolf. It had jumped out of a tree to attack me, of course it had to be smart, just my luck.

Other rabid wolves crept from the shadows. Regular wolves are enough to scare me, but this was worse. Tongues lolling out of there mouths, eyes rolling around, trying to focus on me, and white foam dripping out of there fans filled jaws. The only thing that made me feel a little better was that my wings weren't directly connected to my blood stream so I wouldn't contract the disease from that bite.

Pain exploded from my side as another one leapt down from the trees and used it's head as a battering ram. I stayed upright but I was pretty sure at least one of ribs were broken. Tears stung at my eyes. Crap.

"Solid script:Fire!" I yelled loudly. A circle of fire was all that was separating me and the wolves now. They growled but stepped back, wolves hate fire. The fire was already weakening. My protection wouldn't last long. I couldn't cast the spell again because my ripped wing was causing my magic to fail. I was going to die in this place.

Gajeel POV~

Stupid Salamander, making me be the guard today. I WAS THE GUARD YESTERDAY! I was currently in my dragon state, I had to watch the meadow while he flirted with the blondie and Wendy and that lightning dude went along. I guess it was better than socializing...

I was ripped out of my thoughts when I heard a scream. That sounded like the shrimpy girl, what's her name? Oh right Levy! I flew silently but quickly, in case she wasn't in actual danger so I wouldn't screw up the secret.

A bunch of different scents washed over me her, blood, smoke, canines of some sort, and sickness. I flew a little faster, rabid wolves.

I almost passed it but then I saw her. She was lying in the middle of a pack of the sick beasts. A black ring surrounded her, she had tried to protect herself with fire. She looked pretty bad, blood was pouring from multiple head wounds and bite marks had left deep wounds on her right leg. Her orange fairy wings were ripped to pieces. If I got her to the little healer girl fast enough she could heal her and get the sickness out of her system.

The wolves caught my sent and backed away from her. They thought I was some mindless beast, that they had accidentally caught my prey. The dragons that ate humans were dreadful vile creatures. I watched as they disappeared before picking her up in my claws. She was like a brocken porcelain doll, fragile, delicate, tiny, and shattered.

She was close to passing out from blood loss. I had to get to the small dragon fast. I beat my wings faster and faster before flaring them out, kinda like braking. I changed back to human and carried the battered girl in my arms.

"Salamander!" I called out and the pink haired moron turned around. "Hey you're supposed to be watching-" he stopped as he saw Levy. "WENDY!!! COME HERE NOW!!!" He changed into a dragon and flew off in search of her. "Gajeel?" Lucy gasped when she looked at Levy, I had forgotten they were close friends. I laid her on the ground carefully as Lucy rushed over. "Oh god, Levy." She fell to her knees beside the tiny bluenette. "Tear off a piece of you r shirt." She said quietly. "What for?" I said confused. "TO WRAP AROUND HER HEAD WOUND TO STOP THE BLEEDING IDIOT!" She lashed out tears streaming down her face. I felt like such and idiot. I tore off a piece off the black fabric and covered up her head and another the cover the bite marks. Her eyes fluttered open and she looked over at Lucy. I could tell she was delirious from blood loss. "Hey Lushe, did ya know Natsu's a dragon? And Wendy and Gatheel?" Her words were slurred. "Of course you do! You were talking with Natsu earlier..." She then looked at me. "Thanks fo savin me" she wasn't finishing all her words. She then blacked out.

Natsu and Wendy appeared soon after. Wendy started crying cause she got rid of the rabies but because of that she couldn't heal the wounds. After some consoling from Lucy she pulled it together and put some real bandages on the gashes. This was going to be fun explaining to Makarov. He knew about us, Laxus was his grandson, apparently his son had the bright idea of changing Laxus's species and he gave his 4 year old son the magic if a dragon and ta-da! Second generation dragon.

Of course I was the one who had to carry the shrimp back to the guild hall, in human form with the others of course. It wasn't a problem since she's so light, it's hard to believe she's just a year younger than me. It was a long walk out of the forest so after a while she twitched a little. Her face was still really pale and the bandages hadn't stopped the bleeding by much.

Those animals hurt her bad, some of her hair was actually purple from red blood staining the blue. She seemed even tinier than before, I don't know why but seeing her hurt made my blood boil. I suppose it was normal to get outraged when a comrade gets hurt. Before I joined the guild I had hurt her, I regretted it every time I saw the scar on her arm. I was in a guild called Phantom Lord and had been ordered to do something that would cause Fairy Tail to start a war between us. I hurt her and her two cheerleaders.

I shook the memory from my head. I'm Gajeel Redfox of Fairy Tail, and I had promised to protect Levy during the S-class trials. But I had broken that promise again.
