"I'm not really one for concerts..."

The slips of paper were nearly drenched in sweat as the young man held them out to the woman of his dreams, "I'd really like it if you went with me, Tina..."

She looked between the concert tickets and the nervous redhead attempting to give them to her. Tina didn't recognize the name of the stereotypical rock band on the top of the ticket, but it was the gesture that counted, right? Of course, if he was presenting the tickets to her of all people, that certainly meant that he liked her too. Even if it was only a platonic affection, she most definitely appreciated the gesture... Dear Merlin she hoped it was more than platonic affection.

Her sister could read her better than anyone she knew, mind reading powers or not. Queenie knew better than anyone on the planet how deeply in love Tina was with Newt. He was everything she had wanted in a perfect man, save for a little confidence. She really cared about him. Maybe he wasn't what she had imagined in her childhood, the big strong man to keep her safe from all the worlds troubles, but he needed someone to keep him safe, and Tina was more than willing to fill that role.

"... I'd be honored, Newt," she chuckled, pushing her hair behind her ear, and double checking the name on the tickets, "I love the... Radical Maniacs... They're my favorites."

Newt wasn't stupid. Did she think he was stupid? He could tell that she knew somehow less about the band than he did. Was he making her uncomfortable? He should walk away. Why wasn't he walking away?

But then again... She had said yes to his proposal.

"A...Alright!" he said, smiling and finally making eye contact, "I... I'll see you... I'll see you then!... Tina... Darling... Dearest... Good buddy friend?"

He was making a fool of himself, wasn't he. It wasn't a question.

...

Tina had borrowed some of Queenies' wardrobe. It wasn't like she'd need it. Pretty much all of her wardrobe was identical. Besides, Queenie was out on a date with her boyfriend. It wasn't like Tina necessarily disliked the nomaj. Really, her brain and heart never agreed on how she felt about him. For a time, the brunette had convinced herself that she had a crush on Jacob, but after giving it much time and consideration, she had decided that that wasn't the case.

The makeup felt like too much. Newt had told her before that she looked pretty without makeup.

Why was she thinking about what Newt wanted? Why was a guys opinion the first thing she was thinking of? That was entirely out of character for her.

She didn't want to go out tonight. Especially if her brain was going to continue acting like this. She'd rather stay home, watch TV, and go to bed early. Comfy pajamas, a good show, a nice cup of cocoa, and pizza that she ordered in... Sounded perfect.

But Newt wanted this... She'd do anything for him.

...

Newt had put on the outfit Theseus had suggested and the clothing he had lent him. It didn't fit him right, both style-wise and physically. Theseus always looked too formal, and, really, if Newt had the option, his outfit for this date would be a turtle-neck and jeans. But that wasn't date material...

It's not a date, Newt thought, calm down.

The last time he'd worn a button down, Tina had told him it looked great on him. If she wanted him to dress like this then it was worth the more than mild discomfort.

... Why was he thinking about Tina wanted above anyone else? Of course, he took others feelings into consideration whenever he did anything, but usually it was a faceless nobody, not specifically Tina.
