Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullen)

One year after the battle of Hong Kong, Optimus has accompanied S.T.A.R.S. as a diplomat speaking on behalf of the Autobots to authority figures around the world to help repair the Transformers reputation in the eyes of the people. However Optimus is still being plagued by visions of the 13th Prime leading the Knights of Cybertron in an ancient war eons ago against an unknown enemy on a planet he doesn't recognize which we later learn are memories of his past life coming back to him. Eventually Optimus discovers that he is the key to activating an ancient Cybertronian superweapon built by the primes ages ago capable of destroying entire planets known as the Requiem blaster which draws power from the very core of Cybertron itself essentially turning the very planet into a weapon which Shockwave plans on using to destroy planet Earth. As Cybertron inches closer to colliding with Earth, Optimus must choose between saving humanity or his own home. He still transforms into a red-and-blue Western Star semi truck.

Bumblebee (voiced by Dylan O'Brien)

Bumblebee has his own subplot in this rewrite still searching for his missing sparkmate Arcee believing that there's a chance she may still be alive in spite of his teammates telling him that she might be dead. This leads Bumblebee to coming into conflict with the underground Anti-transformer revolutionary group known as the Initiative who have been hunting and killing transformers in the name of reclaiming Earth and may know of her whereabouts. Not only that, but Wheeljack and Perceptor have also outfitted 'bee with an upgrade known as "parts-forming technology" granting the lovable yellow Autobot the new ability to break his body apart and reassemble itself at will. He still transforms into a black-and-yellow 1970s Camaro.
