"Heejun, what is gay?"
Heejun nearly inhaled the straw he was sipping on, choking on the milkshake and coughing a few times before giving Jaewon a rather sharp stare. That was the last thing he was expecting to hear today and quite frankly it startled the life out of him, "Pardon?"
"I heard a few of the boys saying it at school, but I'm not sure what it is. I think they were talking about me and someone else," Jaewon spoke softly, completely oblivious to the awkward situation he'd just put Heejun in. He jumped up and sat on the wall, swinging his legs and grabbing a small packet of cookies from his pocket. He looked so tiny, a bit like a child.
"I, well, uh..." Heejun stuttered, sweating profusely on quite how to answer the question. I mean, it wasn't really a big deal, but for some reason Heejun just felt so, odd answering it. After all, he wasn't gay, so was it his position to explain to Jaewon what it meant?
The warm wind blew through the trees rustling them, a swift sound echoing around the school entrance. Jaewon sat innocently besides Heejun, crunching the sweet biscuits fairly loudly, the sound slowly starting to grate against Heejun's eardrums. He'd had his sister ask him some peculiar questions in the past, but this particular one really took the cake.
"Well Jaewon, it's, uh..." Heejun swallowed hard, "It's when two guys, when they uh, well..." he couldn't seem to say the words.
Jaewon looked at him, biscuit crumbs dotted around his pouting lips, a confused but pure look on his face.
Heejun swallowed again, this time making a slight 'gulp' sound, "Itswhentwoguysloveeachotherabitlikeagirlandaboylovingeachotherbutonlytheyreguysinsteadokay?"
Jaewon blinked, "Okay."
??????
"What?" Heejun asked, unsure if he just heard his friend correctly. Surely Jaewon didn't think such a thing was normal? After all, two MEN in love? That's madness. There's no way Jaewon could think such a thing was nor—
"So just like Tony and Woohyuk?"
"...Eh?"
"You know," Jaewon spoke nonchalantly, swinging his legs faster and making large hand gestures, "Tony and Woohyuk, they kiss all the time, so I just put two and two together. I guess they're gay then."
Heejun was speechless. He'd been so certain that being gay wasn't right, so convinced that gay people basically didn't exist, yet Jaewon had just so casually told him that two of his group's members, and closest MALE friends were in fact....... Gay.
"Are you sure you saw correctly?" Heejun queried, just double checking Jaewon had his facts right, "Are you sure they weren't just, I don't know, whispering?"
Jaewon chuckled, wiping a hand across his mouth, "Heejun, correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think friends press their tongues against one anothe—"
"ALRIGHT ALRIGHT SHUT UP SHUT UP!" Heejun leapt up off the wall, shaking his head aggressively trying to erase the image of his two friends kissing from his mind. He shivered and made a few bizarre sounds, earning glances from a few of the passing students. He was disgusted. Revolted. Confused. He wasn't really sure what the other feelings he felt were but they certainly weren't good ones. What was he to do? Should he storm into Tony's class and demand to see him? Should he walk over to Woohyuk at lunch and throw a punch at him? Heejun was clueless.
"It's not a big deal," Jaewon muttered, a mouthful of what now appeared to be a rather smelly cheese sandwich. He waved his hands, dropping bits of bread all over the floor, "It's none of our business anyway."
"What do you mean none of our business? Maybe not yours, but it's certainly mine! I'm their leader! And I won't have it, not in this group."
Heejun huffed and threw his bag over his shoulder, an angered expression on his face, "I'm gonna go talk to them," he spoke firmly, before huffing again and heading to Tony's class.
"Mm, see you later," Jaewon waved at Heejun lazily, laughing to himself for a moment.
"Wait til he finds out me and Chilhyun are gay too."
