Mental illness: paranoia and anxiety

Reason for being admitted: he came in on his own terms, knowing his mental health was on a slow decline. He's been here before, and this place felt safer.

Looks: a tall, lanky, pale man with short greasy looking dark brown hair, brown grey eyes, and black rimmed glasses.

Preferred clothing: his go-to are dark colored sweaters (forest green is his favorite color, so most of his shirts are that color too) and some khakis. He definitely gives me Coraline's father vibes! At night he usually wears a pajama top (those nice ones with the collar that look like they could be made of silk) and some sweatpants, maybe even some tan slippers and fun socks just because (this monster sleeps with socks on 😰). The guy looks like he hasn't slept in days.

Personality, general behavior, and habits: a very wound up and anxious man, always slouched over and fiddling with his fingers or tapping his foot. He's a pretty friendly guy, but suspicious and a tad avoidant at first. Not good with touch; it scares him. He bites his nails sometimes and doesn't make a lot of eye contact.

Likes: coffee, cats, sunrises,small moments of peace, and personal space

Dislikes: alleyways, empty/minimally decorated rooms (or when rooms are 'too clean'), suspense, or heavy metal music

Childhood/ source of trauma: his childhood was fine other than making friend with the wrong kind of people. Once he got older, some gangsters were stalking him and giving him a hard time because of an old friend of his. Now he's paranoid because of it, and doesn't feel too save most of the time. Since he's lived alone since he moved out of his parents, he was afraid to leave the house or try and get the help he needed, but he knew he had to do something before he totally broke, so he went in on his own accord.

Coping mechanisms: self isolating, writing, and dissociating (i'm not sure where to put this, but he tends to keep a lot of clutter. For some reason, it makes him feel safer.)

Food preference: isn't picky, but doesn't like to eat much, not like he has a choice.

Doctors visits: mostly for weight checks and idk if this counts but he has sleeping pills. Until he trust his roommate, he fights sleep like it's the devil.

Surgery: a few stitches here and there (right cheek, chest, neck, and bridge of his nose)

Triggers: stalker jokes/joking death threats (ex: "lol, I'm gonna pull up at your house" "sleep with one eye open" "I'm putting you down"), gunshots, distant shouting, doors banging, and glass breaking (a big discomfort is the word "punishment")
