Chapter 15 - Shooting Star

"Hey Stefan." Elena says as Stefan opens the door to let her inside.
"Hey, Damon's upstairs, he will be down soon." He shuts the door and they walk into the living room. Elena sits down and looks at Stefan.
"Stefan, why didn't you ever tell me that you..you're a vampire?" She keeps looking at him.
"Elena. I wanted too. Believe me. I was just scared of how you would react to it and scared of losing you. Even though all that changed." He looks down at the floor.
"Stefan, when Damon told me what you guys are, I couldn't get mad at him. Or even you for not ever telling me. You guys can't help for being what you are."
"Elena, people think of vampires as, as monsters. How can you be okay with any of this?" Stefan stands up and walks over to the book shelf leaning his arm up against it.
"Because I love Damon. Because I love you, just in a friendly matter now. Nothing changes how I feel about you guys. You are the same person to me before I knew you were a vampire. I still love Damon the same way I did before I knew he was a vampire." She stands up and walks over to Stefan and pulls him in for a hug.
"Can I have a hug too?" Damon says as he enters the room. Elena turns around and smiles. Stefan raises his hand at his brother.
"I was just talking to Stefan about what you have told me doesn't change the way I feel about you guys." Elena walks over to Damon and he kisses her on the head.
"Which is why I love you." Damon says.
"What are you guys doing today?" Stefan asks.
"We are taking a baking class so Elena can learn how to bake." He winks at her.
"Hopefully I won't burn the place down." She laughs.
"What are you doing today, brother?" Damon asks Stefan.
"I am meeting Caroline in a few hours." Elena and Damon make faces at Stefan who rolls his eyes and laughs.
"Stefan, Caroline really does like you." Elena tells him.
"I know." He says back.
"Well I guess we will see you later then?" Elena says as she and Damon walk out the door. Stefan shakes his head yes and waves goodbye.

"Okay everyone, let's get to mixing and get these desserts in the oven!" Mrs. Summers says to the class. Elena mixes her brownie mix and then gets them ready to go in the oven. Damon helping her place them into the pan.
"Okay they should be done in about 20 minutes." Elena says to Damon. She wraps her arms around his waist and kisses him.
"Stay with me tonight? Aunt Jenna has to take Jeremy to this art program a few towns over." Elena says to Damon.
"We still need to lay outside under the stars." Damon winks at her.
"We can do that tonight." He says and kisses her.

A few minutes later they take the brownies out and try them.
"These are really good. Good job Elena. You baked and didn't burn the place down." He laughs and Elena gently punches his arm.

"Here let me lay this quilt down first." Damon spreads out the quilt and places it on the ground. He sits down and pulls elena down with him. They lay back and he pulls her into his arms.
"This is so nice." Damon says.
"Peaceful. And romantic." Elena kisses his hand.
"Are you cold? There's another blanket in the car." Damon asks elena.
"No I'm fine. You are keeping me warm." She wraps her arm around his waist and lays her head on his stomach. Damon runs his fingers down her arm.
"Are you ready for graduation?" He asks.
"That's still 2 months away. But yes. I just don't want to go away for college. I want to be here with you." She holds his hand.
"How about if you go away, I'll come with you. Cause I can't stand not being with you." He kisses the top of her head. Elena turns over on to Damon. She looks him in the eyes.
"Good. Cause I can't stand not seeing your beautiful eyes and that little smirk of yours." She kisses him.
"You are beautiful too, you know." He moves some hair back behind her ear and places his hand under her chin. Elena smiles at him.
"I love you, Damon." She kisses him again and lays back down.
"Look, a shooting star." Damon points up into the sky.
"Make a wish Elena."
Elena smiles at him. She closes her eyes.
"What did you wish for?" Damon asks
"Nothing. I already have everything I need right here." Damon grabs her hand and squeezes it.
"I love you, Elena." He whispers to her.
