Rasna couldn't blink for a second since Irish entered Oberoi Mansion till Ayra ran away into the corridors of her room. The urge to protect her best friend made her run back of Ayra hastly. May be, last time she abandoned her, but she wouldn't this time. By the time Rasna reached Ayra's room most of the vases and glasses were shattered on ground and her best friend sat down the floor leaning to her bed foot.
"Ayra!" she gulped bending to Ayra's level. She knew her best friend's vulnerability, it was really soft. Now she couldn't see that softness in her eyes, more than that it was a shield put up.
"What!" Rasna was taken back hearing Ayra snap, but she knew that was what she deserved for leaving her friend in the middle.
"I... Irish" she fumbled trying to form a sensible sentence. At last, she breathed out sitting beside her "Why was he talking like that?"
"Why do you care?" Ayra was hurt beyond being angry. Okay, they had differences yet that could have been solved easily until Rasna decides to push her. There were days when Ayra badly wanted to be held and told everything was fine. She needed her best friend, alas, only loneliness she got.
"Ayra, I'm sorry!" she chuckled hearing Rasna's low guilty whisper.
"Sorry, just sorry! Do you even mean it?"
"Cookie, I'm really sorry!" Rasna faced Ayra finally "I know I shouldn't have left you. I thought you would be fine better of me. You had ma, Ansh, Ivaan and" she gulped before uttering the last name "Irish" that came out as a whisper watching Ayra's jaw tighten.
"Yes, I have now also. Happy? Leave now"
"Cookie!"
"Stop calling me that. I'm not Cookie. Once upon a time I had a best friend who called me that but now she is a stranger to me" Cookie, a fond name kept by a little girl to whom tiny Ayra shared her Choco chip cookie. The same day their friendship started from sharing cookie till sharing their life secrets.
"I'm sorry! I didn't know things would shatter after my departure. It's my fault, I should have not left you, I should have checked on you at least. Please cookie, forgive me, please." Ayra wiggled to get away from Rasna who hugged her tightly sideways. But to her back luck Rasna held her tighter and strong for her to become tired. She was tired of running away, pushing things and handling stuffs.
"How many calls, messages, emails and addresses" Ayra whispered as a tear rolled down her eyes. She terribly missed her best friend all these years, she knew it but dug it deep inside her heart.
"I went to every address I knew related to you. I roamed in streets like mad in search of you. Some days I had to cry to sleep in memories of us. And you" Ayra looked at Rasna who was leaning to her shoulder holding "Just went as if I meant nothing to you."
"Ranjith" Shivaay called out for Ranjith who was in a conversation with a client.
"Yes, sir!" he turned smiling and froze seeing the guy in crisp blue velvet suit and a half white clean shirt tugged to a black cloth pant neatly.
"This is Mr. Irish Shergill, Managing Director and CEO of Shergill Industries. Oberoi Industries is collaborating with his company for a huge project." Shivaay smiled but Ranjith thoughts and facial expression wavered seeing him
