Three parts of one

Chapter 2

Where were they? The minute Andrew had opened that book the world had turned upside down. A black empty void had opened below the three siblings.

"WHAT THE—!!!!!" Andrew's last words were consumed as the three siblings toppled into the absolute darkness below.

Star woke up with a start. She was lying on a cold cobblestone surface. She sat up and looked around. Andrew and Elric were awake. They were leaning against the wall, pouring over the black book. They seemed to be in a circular chamber made from cobblestones.

Star helped herself to her feet and Andrew turned to look at her. "Bout time you woke up." 

 "Where are we?" 

 "We don't know yet. El's been trying to make sense of that book." They looked over where Elric stood with the weird book in his hands. 

 "Can't you read it?" Andrew shook his head, "maybe you could make sense of the junk written in that thing."

Star walked over to where Elric frowned over the black book. "El, can i take a look?" Elric gave her an irritated look and gave her the book. Star looked down at the black scribbles all over the paper. Star frowned as she tried to make out the alien writing. It looked familiar. Star reached into her pockets and pulled out a small mirror.

"You carry a mirror with you?" Andrew blinked. Star ignored him and put it against the corner of the page, and gave a satisfactory smile. Elric peaked over curiously and his eyes widened. 

 "Isn't that reverse English?" Star's grin was all the confirmation he needed. 

Andrew looked into the mirror and patted Star on the back. "Good job Star! You actually did something useful for once!" 

 "Shut up Andrew," Star muttered, but she couldn't conceal the grin on her face.

They sat on the floor and began to slowly read the reverse writing. About an hour later, the three were frowning. 

 "Okay so let me get this out." Andrew said, "this is a beautiful piece of gibberish." 

 "Try reading it again Star," Elric said. 

 "Okay." Star cleared her throat and started reading the nonsensical words written in the book.

'The world had been plagued by the creatures from the realm of evil, Garvahal. The balance between both realms became disturbed. Therefore the worlds were merged. Garvahal and Isvahal became one world, and to protect the races of Isvahal the Shadows were founded. They exorcised the races of Garvahal to protect the races of Isvahal.'

Star paused to look up at her brothers. They were frowning. 

 "I'm guessing that Isvahal is the world we live in." Andrew mused. 

 "So Garvahal must be the world of demons and spirits." Elric finished. 

 "Does that mean that demons and all that other stuff exist?" Star asked. 

 "Who knows." Elric shrugged, "it is a book after all." 

 "El your looking at the idea too fast." Andrew disagreed, "let's look at it from a new point of view." 

 "The world we were born to believe in didn't teach us bout the supernatural and the unseen. If we suppose that these realms exist then the possibility of dimensions, demons, and spirits is all possible."
